Has recently went downhill since new owners Prices have shot up . Different staff but pleasant enough. Do appreciate the new tables etc but think we are paying for these with the hike in their prices.

Went here for lunch and couldnβt believe how downhill it has got.Lentil soup like water and zero taste two tasteless toasted sandwiches probably down to the distinct lack of cheese one soft drink and one lukewarm coffee which I couldnβt drink and we paid Β£30 for this dreadful experience! Would have complained had it not been for the pleasant waiting staff who were the only positive thing about this visit.

Used to eat here when I worked in Paisley when it first opened and thought Iβd try it again. While the staff were attentive and coffee good it is looking very tired - the leatherette covered club chairs had worn through to the base fabric, duct tape held down the metal edging between floor coverings, some of the carpet appear to be worn through, edging was missing from above an internal door and the tables were clean but worn. Really needs a good update and refurb to get back to its old glory.

I walked by and saw the "award winning ice cream" sign in the window so I thought I'd treat myself to a takeaway. It was February, not the height of the ice cream season, however they were advertising how good their ice cream was. There were only 2 flavours on offer due to "low stock" but I liked one of them (Scottish tablet) so I ordered 2 scoop tub to takeaway. The price was Β£3.26. not cheap, not overly expensive either. What I was given was the 2 smallest scoops I've ever seen, it was quite laughable actually (see picture). I was staring at them so the young waiter asked if everything was ok. I said that it was an extremely small portion and was that correct, his reply was "yeah, that's it". I stated my disappointment and walked out. The ice cream itself was reasonably good but it had that icy/crystally bite to it, like it had been there for some time. University Cafe on Byres rd or Esplanade Cafe in Greenock are far, far, superior in quality, taste and value.

Nice Scottish breakfast, black pudding great but Lorne sausage overcooked. Staff friendly and helpful.
