   Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the bouncers! I witnessed some girl being dragged around in this club by a fully grown man and the girl being pushed up the stairs by the man bouncers!! While she got kicked out.. they done absolutley nothing about the man. There are men in there serving up drugs in the smoking area also...the police are aware of the the assault I have 3 daughters that I will not ever allow to go into this club the poor girl has taken a funny turn that night after she got home and then was rushed with head injury of concussion. A solicitor is doing further notice. Would put 0 reveiws if I could

   This place is just great, music is up too standards even though a bit repetitive sometimes. The bouncers are friendly, when I was drunk one night they wouldn't let me in and they agreed with me too sober up then come back which was good of them instead from saying "your not coming in and thats it. Highly recommend this place as you can party all night and meet people

   Got kicked out because some guys lied to the bouncers. Unbelievable that the bouncers was too scared to kick them out because of allegations they had heard but when we explained the situation and showed evidence that we had done nothing wrong they were still too scared to kick them out. I was sat outside doing absolutely nothing and got accused of doing something wrong, never coming back!

   I used to go to the basement under protest 20 odd years ago. Was never a fan at all, would prefer the other end of Chelmsford. Ended up in here with friends at Christmas (easily led after a few beers) and was really impressed. It's undergone a lot of changes, which made the whole experience so much better. Would gladly come back on another night out.

   Best place to see a band in Chelmsford. Friendly staff, great sound system and choice of music. The drinks are the same price here as anywhere else and they have a great selection. This venue is a gem not to be overlooked.

   Good venue, however slightly pricey. Ceiling is very low hence the name but unless your over 6'2" its not a problem! Good variety of bands most nights of the week and open til 3am approx.
