Absolutely shocking experience at Zumz Auto – avoid at all costs. I took my car here for an MOT and was told everything was fine after paying £625 for “repairs.” Something felt off, so I took it to a second mechanic for a proper check. What they found was terrifying. Major safety faults that Zumz Auto completely ignored: Front and rear brake pads + discs worn or broken Both rear handbrake cables needing replaced Steering rack broken CV joint needs replacing Exhaust not secure Front wheel bearing worn Excessive play in steering rack Steering rack gaiter burst These aren’t small things—these are the type of faults that can cause serious accidents. Yet Zumz Auto passed my car as “safe.” The second mechanic straight-up said the MOT looked rushed and incomplete, and that if someone did work like this in his shop, “they wouldn’t be working there anymore.” To make things worse, when I went back to ask for the MOT tester’s name, station number, or checking agent, they refused to give me anything. I was later told by another mechanic that the name on my MOT certificate isn’t even real—nobody by that name works there. So they’re signing MOTs under false identities. This is extremely dangerous and completely unacceptable. I’m now facing a £1,400 repair bill on a £2,000 car because the first MOT was basically fake. As someone who needs their car daily, this has put me in a horrible position—and honestly, I could have been killed driving with failed brakes and a broken steering rack. Zumz Auto is not just unprofessional—they are unsafe. Do not trust them with your car, your money, or your safety.

This garage is part of an illegal ring, it does dodgy MOTs then his "freind" sells you the van the next week, then 3 weeks later the van will have so many faults on it that 2 separate mechinics would NOT touch it to repair it only 25 days after full MOT was given by mr J mcshane, no way would a mechanic put that out a garage, there were bits missing for god sake, and my kids were in that van and the guy selling the van knew they would be in it, there are 4 gents in on this, one being the garage owner, the other being mr mcshane the MOTer , the guy selling the dodgy van and his pal that phones you to see what evidence you have to support your claim to see whether or not the will need to do something or not. Avoid at all cost, also if you're thinking about buying a van and its had its mot done here it will be most likely not worth the paper its written on. I will be taking this to all the relivant authorities, and so should anyone else past present and future. To report a false MOT, contact the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) Intelligence Unit by calling the confidential line at 0800 030 4103 or emailing them at [email protected]

Well…well….well, here we have a garage that does dodgy mot’s, just checked my van out at a proper mot station and guess what, everything that was in the last two previous mot’s before going to Zumes popped up leaving me with a bill for £700, Zumes gave the van a clean bill of health, utter cowboys, avoid at all costs, someone will lose their lives if this keeps up, the matter is with the DVLA along with supporting evidence, these people need to lose their license for doing mot’s and fined, FYI I just bought the van on the 5th June 2025 from a private seller on the back of a so called clean mot from Zumes.

Idk about other people’s negative reviews of that garage. But i can tell my experience. I have bought a MB from them. They were respectful, helpful, and to the point. Straight away I took an impression that they were frank and transparent about the info they were providing, rather than lying, embellishing, or wooling my eyes to see the car sold by all means. So, I decided to go ahead and I have bought the mercedes. In a very short time the exhaust appeared to be blowing badly. I got back to them, building up an apprehension in me that I got scammed. But I was wrong. They have taken ownership of that and promptly The very next week I brought the car back over to the garage, where the exhaust got welded on the spot and professionally. Since then, the car is great The bottom line is that they aren’t scammers, liars, or cons. To the contrary, they are honest, trustworthy, and accountable. Of course, trading in old cars conduces the risk of the cars may appear faulty, that’s true. But what makes a huge difference between legit traders and scammers is whether they will take responsibility for that or rather shall bolt away immediately after selling it to you. Most of the times they will run showing you the middle finger. ZumZAuto are different though. And I appreciate all of their attitude and service Many thanks guys, I sincerely recommend this place once you’re after buying a cheap round about car in Glasgow My next car will also be bought from them All the best

Very unprofessional garage! Had my car's oil sump replaced here; but the very unprofessional guy messed the sealing, and I realised oil leakage and dripping while the car was parked. I returned to the garage and didn't really get a proper answer. I don't suggest this place at all!
