   Been meaning to leave this review for a while but finally got round to it. I unfortunately didn't have a great experience with Shaun Smith Events LTD (just Shaun and he sometimes outsources to other DJs and I think has a full-time job elsewhere). I wouldn't book again and don't recommend others book if they don't want to feel unsure that someone will turn up. Luckily a DJ did turn up for the party (not Shaun) but it was organised the night before and the DJ had no idea about it beforehand - it was a different DJ to the one I was told was coming. Which is a slightly better experience than I've heard from others on Facebook who have used this service - some people have had no DJ turn up at all for a wedding! Communication was shocking throughout and I asked Shaun to call me a couple of times as his lack of responses was worrying me. I only managed to speak to him once on the phone. He had issues with his email (wasn't going through via his website but I didn't get a Postmaster response when I emailed directly), so not sure if he wasn't paying for the website. He said it had issues but it seems like that he's just not paid for it. The website currently isn't online. When I did manage to get him on the phone he was reassuring, but the lack of communication continued. He blamed it on being on holiday (I saw from his social media that he was on a weekend fishing trip) and then that he was moving house. Seems like there were a number of excuses he'd given others too. Not sure if there can be so many excuses, but he often didn't respond to any messages or calls for days on end. I'd paid a deposit in the beginning but he asked for the rest of the money upfront 3 weeks before, insinuating I was late to pay. At the time of booking he'd said a week before. When I questioned it he apologised and said he was let down from a big event and needed the money. Rather than saying that upfront (though I'm not sure I believe it) he tried to say that I was late with payment and changed the date the money was due. On the day, luckily a DJ turned up (who said he wasn't surprised about the lack of communication from Shaun, it seemed like a theme). Shaun messaged a couple of hours before the event (after ignoring my communication previously) to say the light up numbers had broken and he had no replacement. He said he'd either try to get another there or give me a refund. I asked for a refund and chased it up a couple of times, he asked for my bank details. Heard nothing since, he's ignored my messages. Seems like a common theme with others too. Really disappointing and embarrassing on his behalf. Would not recommend booking with him. I felt uneasy the whole time leading up to the party and even told him I was concerned he wasn't going to show. I think he has a separate job from what I saw previously, it sounded like he was on a building site when I spoke to him. I think he's taken his accounts off of Facebook and Instagram. The one star is for the DJ who turned up as he ended up being great. But that's not a full experience with Shaun Smith. Please save yourself worry and do not book with him.

   Had a fantastic experience with Shaun, originally looked on a third party event site where a number of different event companies reached out. In comparison, Shaun was professional, organised and offered a great deal. They arrived promptly with a check in throughout the weekend to ensure their services were as expected. Will definitely use again!

   Recently used Shaun for my daughter’s christening as a DJ and hiring of light up letters. Amazing service, was always available leading up to the event to answer any questions, arrived with plenty of time to set up, and was super friendly and made sure the event run smoothly. We even decided to extend the event last minute which Shaun kindly accommodated. Gave Shaun full autonomy to pick the set list and he expertly read the crowd - and all guests were up dancing. Thank you SO much Shaun. Will definitely use again!

   We had Shaun DJ for our engagement party and we couldn’t of asked for more! He kept everyone up dancing the whole night, played any requests, knew exactly the vibe people wanted and was a big part of our night! We will 100% be using his services again. Can’t recommend enough!!!

   Shauns dj and entertainment services were 10*! Keeping 40 8 year plus entertained for 2 hours takes a lot! All the children had the most amazing time and we couldn't have wished for a better 8th birthday party! Thank you so much ☺️

   Amazing as always! This is the second time shaun Smith Discos has hosted our annual charity kids partys. He is energetic and engaging with all the kids and knows how to keep the party going. The kids always walk away saying how amazing it was and love the little prizes he gives out during games. He is very professional and always leaves us exhausted from all the fun we have had. Thanks again shaun for all you do!

   Shaun was dj for for our daughters 18th birthday at Hadleigh Rooms and such a great night was had by all. Shaun is very professional, kept everyone dancing til the end and made sure the night ran smoothly. I would recommend Shaun to others.
