This was my first visit to the Playhouse and it didn't disappoint. It's a lovely theatre. The seats (circle) had a great view and really good acoustics. It's always nice to visit a new theatre and be pleasantly impressed. The staff were friendly and jolly. Can't wait to pay another visit.

An excellent venue that holds many different shows. We came for the Riverdance and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The stalls and balcony both have good views. There are bars as you would expect. Parking is an issue if you are driving but many busses stop on this route. Overall, the venue is brilliant and recommended catching a show here.

Fantastic night out watching Chicago plus Kinky Boots. We have seen lots of different shows here and all of them have been amazing. Lovely theatre, drinks at the bars are very reasonable priced and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Full house as usual which makes it such a great atmosphere.

We had a fantastic night watching Moulin Rouge at the Playhouse in Edinburgh. From start to finish, the production was top class β€” the lighting, costumes, singing, and dancing were all absolutely spectacular. The energy on stage was infectious, and the attention to detail in every scene was truly impressive. It’s clear a lot of passion and talent went into this show. The Edinburgh Playhouse continues to be my favourite venue. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and it’s the perfect setting for a night out at the theatre. I would definitely go back β€” Moulin Rouge was a dazzling experience I won’t forget!

A great venue but seating is quite tight for long legs. Staff were super welcoming, helpful and friendly. Joseph with Donny Osmond was the performance we saw. What a spectacular event, although it diverted from the traditional script to allow Donny to show his stage skills and provide numerous comic quips. I love live theatre and The Playhouse lives up to all expectations.

Recently been to see The Lion King and had a thoroughly wonderful time! The performance itself was fantastic and the cast were all wonderful. The theatre itself is traditional and relatively old. It really is beautiful when you take the time to look at all the features. The foyer looks absolutely fantastic and the staff are absolutely amazing. Such happy, pleasant people who are more than happy to help. The chairs in the actual theatre are comfy enough but you can tell they’re old. Sitting for 3 hours solid is not so great, as well as there being barely any room for your legs, let alone personal belongings. They also really need to enforce disallowing re-entry, at least until certain points, when people have left because I spent half my time getting up and sitting down because of children constantly β€˜needing the toilet’. Nothing more annoying when you’ve paid a lot of money for tickets and the show being interrupted over 5 times in one act. Other than that, it’s a wonderful experience no matter where you sit and I really do recommend going to see a performance here!

Large theatre with great atmosphere. We were there to see Beauty and the Beast, final performance and it was unforgettable. The theatre had a great system to check for covid passes, tickets and bag search. We enjoyed our concessions too

Review is for the venue not the show as beauty and the beast was incredible and the best show I’ve ever seen. The venue is the worst I’ve ever been. Complete discomfort zero leg room all crammed in and hardly anybody wearing masks. A shambles, it’s nothing more than greed. I paid Β£80 for me and my partner to be sat up in the balcony and for that money the least I expect is to be comfortable.
