Scotland's flagship new writing theatre, dedicated exclusively to contemporary drama. Its modern building on Cambridge Street houses two flexible auditoria, fostering an intimate connection between audience and performer. First time visiting , staff so friendly and helpful . The ambience was really nice , and was pleasantly surprised by the drinks prices . Venue nice and clean , really good location a short taxi ride from Haymarket Station. Hope to get back down at some point , really enjoyed .
The bar has a nice casual atmosphere, gluten free beers available as well as some staples. The theatre seating -twin seats- is padded (though not overly soft).
Had an excellent dinner in restaurant prior to show. Theatre is compact with good seats everywhere but not the most comfortable. Show was very entertaining with great acting.
Went into Traverse One for a performance. There are two main theatres in this building with a bar / cafe for drinks or snacks. The seats were very comfortable and the view of the stage was clear. Very clean and nice place - definitely an enjoyable experience.
Nice venue pity about all people who can't sit through gig my toddlers behave better and hold toilet in compared to all these adult babies who couldn't. at Simon Fowler gig. What a singing voice of any kind of music makes it look easy that guy has
Yesterday I saw "Until Its Gone" by Alison Carr . It was excellent and the acting was also very good . I am a retired professional actress . Also a member of Actors Equity for 60 years .I think you are obliged to give the actor's names at the beginning of the show as we had no idea who they were.Please do this in future .
Lovely Theatre. We saw a small production at lunch hour. It was fun and creative. A great plan to do while on a day out in Edinburgh. The room was full so I'd say it's best to book tickets in advance.
Saw an excellent play in Traverse 1. The raked seating gives good, unrestricted views of the stage, but isn't the most comfortable when the auditorium is full. Would benefit from being able to take orders for interval drinks.
Subterranean bar with excellent vegan options. Steep raked seating gives everybody clear sight lines. We saw ‘Blood Harmony’ featuring three part close harmony singing from three female actors, addressing love, loss, and sisterhood.
