This is a review for the Harriet StoreΒ in Rutherglen Glasgow. This is not about the price but it is the service I bought the shopping including the "bake at home rolls" and used the self checkout machine to pay. On the shelf it is stated that it is 85p, however i was charged Β£1.85, When I discovered that it was the wrong price i went to the till to ask for a refund however the cashier ( i believe a new staff) looked at me as if i was in the wrong and repeated that the price was Β£1.85 i.e. he did not listen and understand my explanation. The manager came - Xy087R, advised me that "some people put it in the wrong place". This indicate that it is not a customer, it is their staff that does not take care as there is a whole box of the item on the wrong shelf. He did not give any apology nor empathy. This is a very bad service and made me feel stupid in front of the queuing customers. CLEARLY LACK OF PEOPLE SKILLS Time: 18:58 ITEM: Dinner Roll PB , item number: 283477

I'll never shop for my needs in Aldi Supermarket in Ruthglen again, I once thought it friendly with very helpful staff, but I was in there tonight (Thursday) at roughly 9.30p.m and the anger issues with staff was unbelievable, I was in with my friend to pick up a few groceries, as soon as we walked up the 1st aisle for butter, cucumber milk and pies the male member of staff was looking my friend up and down, he did it with me also, my friend told me to complain about that as he was going to immedietly, at the top of the aisle another senior member of staff was standing and we approached him, my friend told him what had occurred just minutes previously and the first thing he said very rudely, I must add... "he's my colleague " he never eyed you up and down, I added that he did the same to myself and he completely ignored me, maybe because I'm older and I've only been a cancer survivor twice. Also pneumonia twice brain damaged twice also, I've got a colostomy bag due to an emergency oprration in Dec 2022 in which they told myself family that I would not survive, they're also told me in feb 2008 that I had 18mnths-2yrs to live and would probably never walk again, 17 months later I underwent a removal of a cancerous tumour from my neck and my lymph node was also removed rendering me immune compromised, I also broke my right ankle and was diagnosed by a consultant the same day telling me I had prostate cancer, in January 2020 I snapped my left ankle and in 2019 Iwas told I had pneumonia a 2nd time but when I was admitted she paramedics bragged that they done it in 12 minutes and the nurse replied,, just as well, another 5 minute's and he wouldn't have made it... being offended just because you shop by a member of staff was insult enough, but I thought I had rights to complain when made feel disgusted and down due to anger issues with most staff members, one was nicer enough and helpful at checkout, but they senior member was hearing nothing of our injured feelings by his "colleagues " and never even looked my way when I tried to complain also, disgusting attitude to have in a large well known grocery chain store, it was friendly once, they must have been rebuked earlier when management was on.

Aldi Rutherglen. Not impressed today, to be honest, I've not been impressed for a while. Half of one whole isle, where biscuits and chocolate are located was inaccessible with empty centre isle baskets covering the whole length of the rack. (Picture available) An ongoing issue every Friday when I shop at doors open, no fresh milk out, everytime, I'll repeat, everytime I ask, I get "oh it might not be in yet", yeh, of course it is, when I am them to check, guess what, they bring out a single 4 pint, rather than as full cage which would take no extra effort. Maybe it's just me, but surely these are staples that should be put out first. 4 pints lasts me a week, so to have only a few 17th Oct available is really not acceptable for me. I wonder if a little stock correction could be achieved, not just this but Greek Style large 1kg yogurt, Full Fat, Low Fat mixed together. I get the, stack em high sell em cheap methodology, but wee guys like me and the average wee woman find that really difficult to navigate. Yes, yes, I could ask a member of staff, so the time they have taken to sort me out could have been spent sorting them in the first place. Logical, maybe not. Stock rotation is also an ongoing issue. Having been in retail for the first dozen years of my working life, I'd have been fired for what I see in Rutherglen, but maybe it's part of your model. Finally, a wee bit of staff training for the self-service checkouts. This has not happened once, but almost every member of your young staff, I'm being specific, because older members like Michelle, and the tall chap, bald like me, who are great seem to understand. I have 4 heavy cloth bags that are two heavy for the 'Own Bags' button, so I don't bother trying any more, but when I asked the the young blond girl (well young to me) this morning, about 08:20, said "yes, you need to do blah blah blah", I said, no, they are too heavy, she kind of rolled her eyes, as if, silly old man, what would you know. I'm an engineer, I know. Okay, that's my rant over. Update, Thanks to staff who turned out today 24th January 2025, with 80-100mph winds. That alone raises my rating took 4 stars. Update 02/08/2025, Chocolate cluster bites reduced by 25%, from 20-15 but not the price. Maybe they are unaware of the Cost of Living crisis.

A good supermarket. Cheap and quality. Despite long queues, they move quickly. I'd much prefer if they had a self service section, however. The car park can be a bit cramped sometimes. On the whole, a fine place.

I used the store on Sunday and was met with Santa's rude little helper on the till . Whilst I was arranging my bags for quick packing he moved my trolley into a position that he was happy with . The proceeded to pull me up for dumping a cheese board somewhere in the store. Only to be told by one of his colleagues that he had be got the wrong person , and he quickly changed his attitude , when I called him on it he couldn't explain himself !! Next time instead of being discriminatory check your facts!!!
