Attention to detail on cleanliness of rooms is very poor . Rooms are very dated and of poor decor . Room we had faced straight onto main road and had no blinds or nets so unless curtains are shut every man and his dog sees in . Rubbish in empty draws and behind bed not just little bits . Breakfast is continental only not full English as stated on booking . Com Bed conford was a luck 1/10 . The mattress must have cost all of £10 it was that poor . All in all not somewhere i would stay again very dissapointed in almost everything about the place and believe me im not one who moans easily.

I checked in late at night but the owner was very welcoming and helpful. The service was among the best I’ve experienced at any hotels! Also I had breakfast from a small but nice buffet and the service was excellent!! That was one of the best memories in Edinburgh!!

My partner and I had an excellent stay at this hotel (end of July) The establishment has been refurbished, thanks to the efforts of the owner and staff, and the result is very harmonious and soothing. The bed is extremely comfortable The staff we met were very kind and attentive Special thanks to Romik, who made our stay unique!

Romik and team did an amazing job welcoming us and doing everything in their remit to offer us an amazing stay. Clean and organised rooms, good options for breakfast and they even gone above and beyond to offer some soy milk for my coffee. The place is well connected with public transport, has a great and spacious parking area and it’s ran smoothly by the team. We had a lovely time and would come back in our next visit to Edinburgh! Highly recommended.

This is an honest review; We stayed here as a couple in July. Our room was atrocious! It was mid being decorated and there was masking tape around fixtures n fittings, half finished painting n decorating, the towel holder fell off the wall, the towel rail and toilet roll holder were loose n wobbly, the shower wouldn’t stay up on the wall! On our first night there were hairs in the bed and the manager changed the bed sheets there and then! I would not stay here again nor recommend it! Holes dents n cracks in the walls! Not to mention the cockroaches! We were promised breakfast when we left early hours and nothing was left for us. During our stay we tried ringing Niko who we booked with and he never answered our phone!

Enjoyed my stay apart from finding the barmaid very false

I would recommend this hotel to friends and I am looking forward to staying there next time I visit Edinburgh. The single room was roomy with a large ensuite bathroom. Both rooms were very clean (, and also other communal rooms in hotel.) The sheets were crisp. The hotel was very dog friendly. I declined the free cooked breakfast the night before as I don't eat breakfast. Talking to the cook the next day I said I regretted doing so as I realised my dog would not get a sausage. When I returned from walking the dog the cook had put out a dish of chopped up sausage for my dog. Touches like this make all the difference. In fact all the staff I met were cheerful and helpful. There is a small bar which had a nice atmosphere, and friendly locals. We had a delicious and good portioned food (with decent sized salad.) The hotel is just off the bypass and the road outside leads straight into the centre of town with just one dog-leg at Cameron Toll.

Had a funeral tea in the Abbey last Monday. Girls went out of their way to accommodate us. Just a shame (for them - revenue and for us - tradition) that due to the pandemic, they weren't permitted to serve us alcohol. Thank you very much to all the staff for making the gathering as pleasant as possible.

This place is homely, welcoming, friendly and the food is good. Great portion sizes and decent prices. The bar is dog friendly and there's a chilled out atmosphere. My one hang up is that the interior is in dire need of refurbishment, it all just a bit old and foostie. If they sort that out, especially as plenty of houses are being built nearby, it'll be ideal and they'll make a load of money.

Had lunch here. Good menu with daily specials. We chose from the "buy one meal get a second for £1". Price of meal from this selection was £7.95 plus £1 for the second with maybe about 10 choices. We both had fish and chips. Nice crispy chips and fish was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Yes, it says probably from the freezer, but majority of places are anyway. Staff friendly and restaurant and toilets clean.
