   This shop is never open! Closed Monday, Closed Thursday, Closed Sunday half day Saturday and long extended lunch brakes all week, plus early closing times....it's clear that they're not keen to sell anything....one wonders why? It's a shame because it could be such a valuable shop in this area. It would help a lot if the 'actual' opening times where updated on line including lunch brakes etc and perhaps if the staff showed some enthusiasm for there work by actually being there!

   On a random day to lydney I came across Raymond’s, from the moment I walked in I was greeted as though they had known me for many years, very warm and friendly. As I was walking around the shop looking for new boots, trousers and socks for my hiking the lady assisting me was a very special amazing lady, we got chatting about running as well as the importance of keeping local businesses alive, I was fascinated to learn the history of the store and how long the family had been running the business. I could’ve stayed all day chatting to the staff but unfortunately my day had to continue, I would highly recommend using this amazing local family business to anyone.

   If you're after a genuine otherworldly Forest of Dean experience, don't bother with the 'Crime Through Time' museum - simply head for Raymonds Stores of Lydney. A visit to this 'fashion' store is akin to becoming trapped in an episode of 'Are You Being Served', if it were relocated to Royston Vasey and staffed by the 'Suits You' tailors......worth it alone to check out the vintage display cases, although you may find it easier to enter the shop than to leave.....

   Not impressed at all. I have been in to buy some shoes. They didn’t have the ones/any I like and asked if they could order them. First I had to ward off several attempts of trying to get me to buy other shoes they had on stock and then listen to several renditions about these shoes are very expensive and are you sure to finally being told they would order. Several continued discussions about the price and fact it would take 2 weeks I left thinking an order had been placed. No phone call no nothing and after just over 2 weeks I walked in again. Guess what .... they hadn’t ordered but would do now. Should be there the following Wednesday. Went in again and guess again... still no shoes and no call. Feedback is 2 weeks ..... no thank you!!!!!
