There was quite the queue for prescriptions but it went down quick enough nd could hear the young guy apologising to every parson he served, for the wait

Busy Pharmacy serving a busy community. Never had any problems. Maybe information on the website to tell customers that the dispensary is closed between 13:00 and 14:15 hours to avoid disappointments.

Always seems to be a queue to collect prescriptions. Plenty staff behind the counter but mostly only 1 serving. If you're waiting for it to open at 9am you have to join the queue with the local "dependants" who get taken first no matter what to get their daily dose.

Some staff would benefit from some training in active listening skills before rushing to respond from a place of misunderstanding and assumption. I was 'reacted to' rather than responded to for handing in a prescription near closing time. I was aware the pharmacy closed in 10 minutes but find it difficult to get there at any other time because of work but I thought I would try as my prescription comes in sealed boxes with the content not needing to be checked by the pharmacist. Nonetheless , I had no expectation whatsoever of the staff being able to process my prescription in time and so asked if it was okay for me to hand in the prescription at this time and if not, no problem, I would return tomorrow to resubmit it or even collect it. I would rather the person been honest and said, no sorry, it is a bit late. But instead, she was very defensive, took the prescription out of my hand, spoke in a louder voice over me and said rather resentfully, 'we are closing in five minutes you know ' I tried to say that's okay, I'll come back tomorrow but she insisted on serving me and keeping up an annoyed, passive aggressive demeanor. I understand your job can be difficult. It's not easy dealing with the public, but if you had actually listened to what I was saying, you would have seen that I was not behaving in an expectant or entitled manner and was not expecting my prescription and was prepared to come back the next day but I was not listened to - an assumption was made about me. I even apologized for my lateness and was prepared to accept the consequences of that, i.e. not being able to get my prescription that day. There are many reminders to the public to speak respectfully and patiently with health workers and this is important - essentially reminding the public not to project their frustration onto the health worker and if a member of the public is being rude or aggressive or demanding something that is outwith your capacity due to a time constraint or other reasons, then stick to your boundary and don't tolerate disrespect. With this in mind, my feedback is to other members of staff in this pharmacy to apply the same principles of respect to customers in their interaction. It's okay to say no, it's too late, please come back. This feels much better than having someone's annoyance and frustration projected onto you and being spoken to without care or respect. Remember, not every member of the public is going to be pushy or disrespectful to you - it's not okay for people like myself who are being reasonable and respectful to have your frustrations lumped on them. If your job is making you that stressed, then you need to find a way of processing these emotions without projecting them onto the customer. In healthcare of all fields we should not be doing this. It's not ethical practice. Please note the pharmacist who ended up dispensing my prescription told me I had nothing to apologize for and was happy to give me my prescription. Training in not just communication needed here but in actual active listening and responding skills so that the reality of the situation can be assessed, hopefully preventing such reactivity.

They don't answer the phone really, which is my main gripe. Being able to confirm your prescription is with them and being processed would make things so much easier (I'm not reffing to their repeat prescription service). The staff are generally helpful and clear.

Please don't mislead people with waiting time, was told my prescription will be ready 2:15, arrived only to get it at 2:50 while told it's going to be 5 minutes. I understand that it's understaffed (and the staff is always helpful) but I can't take an afternoon off to wait for my prescription.

Up until the end of 2021, I really could not fault the service provided by this pharmacy for my continuing Chronic Medication Prescription. It is usually ready to collect on a Thursday as I can't get time off work on a Friday and is needed for the Saturday (we've all been told not to stockpile our medicines). My prescription was not ready to collect on Thursday, could not be collected on Friday and although tge website says pharmacy open until 2pm today 03/01, there's no access to the premises! Given that I will now have to wait until at least Wednesday to collect my medicines, almost a week, I am seriously not impressed!

We have been going here for years and so this post is somewhat overdue! Firstly, the counter staff. So helpful, patient and polite, they always go out of their way to help, including finding specific things in store, otherwise ordering them in for us. And then the pharmacy staff, the same goes for all of them and they genuinely care, demonstrating this by checking with us to make sure we enough medicines for over the festive period, for example. They work tirelessly, making up medications and finding them for people when they come later to collect. A big overdue thank you from Richard, Trish and Dave Purvey!

Friendly staff and great pharmacist. He will answer questions regarding anything and has saved me going to the doctors countless times. Can get a bit busy with morning and evening 'rush hour' customers. Pharmacist takes his lkn h between 13:00 & 14:00 si dependingbon your prescriptions you may need to avoid that hour. Other than that it is a small Boots so dont expect their full range of products like you would see in princess street or the new part of the Fort. S. Denholm
