Negative unsupported learning environment for those not "straight thinking".Highly pressurised environment.Students warned not to complain about extensive daily jack hammering building works. Some skilled teachers who also make subjects interesting. Some sadly truly not.Range of offered subjects could be more extensive.Nice facilities (supported by continual monetary requests from parents).Would not recommend this school as it really is not true to its publications.Google requests an honest review-this is.

I learned about electroplating at this school, where jewellers would cover cheaper metals with a more expensive metal to make the cheaper look great on the outside, to hide its negatives. This ironically is a great metaphor for the school, except its not covering a cheap metal, just something worse smelling. Would give 0/5 if possible.

The reviews on here really don't represent how most feel about St Clement Danes school and it is the minority of people who are displeased with the school who have written these reviews. SCD is one of the top schools in the country and it isn't because of private tutors or an overly strict learning enviroment. It is because the school offers knowledgable, friendly teachers and creates an ideal learning enviroment that ensures students are willing to learn. I have just finished my GCSEs and I can not find one person in my year group who is upset with their results. There will be a few but the majority and over the moon and feel as though they have reached the potential but also gone behond. In all honesty, the school definatley needs improvement when it comes to special need cases as they seem a bit out of their depth but apart from that, it is an amazing school. It has an amazing reputation for a reason and I would highly recommend it to any people looking for a good secondary school.

I went to St Clement Danes School in Chorleywood. My family believed all the hype & thought it would be the best school. Why wouldnt they? All the write ups look good (but theyre just words on a page), results look good (but in reality so many students have private tutors outside of school), Open Evenings look good (students are told they HAVE to say the school is good). Oh on the surface it looks good but its not until you are in the school every day that you actually realise what its like. Its NOT as good as it is hyped up to be. Sure there are SOME good teachers, but there are also loads that are not! And if you're stuck with one (or more) of them, then you are stuffed. Loads of us actually ended up HAVING to get private tutors outside of school just to pass our GCSEs. If you try to say that you need help or change teacher the Heads wont listen to you. They wont accept criticism or provide support. Its OUR education. Don't we deserve to be listened to? Then theres also the newly qualified teachers who are brought in to teach GCSE Level - treating us like guinea pigs. The Head Teacher boasts about the school-she is out of touch with what is REALLY going on.Perhaps concentrating on your own school (instead of the National Teaching School thing) and actually listening to people who experience it every day might be a good start! Oh and yes, there IS bullying & it does NOT get dealt with properly. It gets brushed under the carpet. Also, there ARE drugs.Every school has its problems but a good school listens! Ive left St Clement Danes now & Im studying elsewhere. So glad I did. I already feel more listened to&cared about. I actually now feel like I matter and that my opinions are listened to-I never felt like this at St Clement Danes.Maybe thats why so many teachers end up leaving each year too.

BE VERY AWARE! ...... From experience the SENCO and Special Education Needs provision at St Clement Danes, Chorleywood, are worse than poor!!! ...... This leads to VERY frustrated and upset individuals who JUST WANT TO DO THE BEST THEY CAN, but who are NOT supported with their individual difficulties at St Clement Danes school! .... A school SHOULD be approachable and SUPPORTIVE of EACH student as an INDIVIDUAL - St Clement Danes, Chorleywood are NOT!
