My friend’s daughter attended this school until earlier this year, and her experience raised a number of serious concerns. She often spoke about the poor quality of the food provided, mentioning that some students became sick after eating it. There was also little to no clarity around whether meals were halal, which is an important issue for students with religious dietary needs. Another ongoing problem she described involved the snacks given during break times, which were sometimes spoiled or mouldy. Despite several students bringing this to the school’s attention, their complaints were repeatedly ignored. She also had a negative experience when dealing with a disagreement with another student. When the issue was taken to the principal’s office, she felt the situation was handled unfairly. She was not given a proper chance to explain her side, as the teacher appeared to dismiss her account altogether. She also felt that the other student was favored simply because they were new to the school. The school should place far greater emphasis on student health, fairness, and listening to all students equally. These concerns are particularly troubling for a school that frequently promotes itself as maintaining high standards and strong reviews.

My niece was in this school but they left this year, she kept on talking about how bad the school was with the food being super horrible bad quality giving people food poisoning and not telling religious kids if the food is halal or not. Another thing to add she kept on talking about how the food in snack break was always mouldy and multiple students complained about it but never got their voice to be heard, She also complained how she got into a conflict once and got called into the principals office to try sort it out but when she tried to speak her side of the story the teacher wasn’t hearing her out and decided that her side of the story was all false and didn’t give her a chance speak. My niece also said that the teacher wasn’t on her side because the girl that they were having conflict was new to the school. Tasis please take more consideration into the health of students and try hear all students out equally because this is some unacceptable behaviour for a school that bets 5 star reviews most of the time.

I truly cannot say enough about the TASIS community. When faced with finding a school for our children four years ago as we prepared to move to London, we looked at many options in the greater London area. As a teacher in both public and private schools for over 20 years, I had a specific sense of what I was looking for – both in academics and social/emotional programming. What I wasn’t prepared to find was a school that blew my expectations out of the water – in absolutely every single arena. TASIS not only met – and exceeded – my hopes for both of my children academically, but its student support and pastoral care surpassed anything I’d experienced as a parent or teacher in previous schools. Academically, each child is supported in the manner needed. Students are challenged and offered a wide variety of advanced studies, should this be what is needed. Students can progress at their speed, for example, in math classes should they be ready to take on more of a challenge beyond their grade level. Many AP and IB courses are available to stretch thinking and enrich learning beyond the introductory level. Equally, when extra help is required, the level of student support offered is outstanding. Students have access to grade-specific learning specialists who work with them all year both one-on-one for extra support as well as in concert with the student’s teachers to make a comprehensive, thoughtful plan for learning success. The faculty is top tier, incredibly passionate about their subject matter, and always going above and beyond to ensure the success of their students. Teachers are incredibly accessible to students and parents and just truly care. This group of teachers is one that, as a former teacher, I would have loved to be a part of during my career. To add to the superb academics, students are supported similarly outside of the classroom. Whether on the athletic fields or seeking out pastoral care for a personal issue, at the health center for any concern, or asking a classmate for help finding their next class, I cannot overstate the amount of care that goes into ensuring the well-being of every single child. Counselors, coaches, peer mentors, nurses, Buddy Families, faculty advisors….the list goes on when it comes to social and emotional support at TASIS. This care also stretches beyond students – every family is supported and meant to feel a special part of this incredible community. One other aspect to TASIS that was just the cherry on the sundae for our family is the athletic department. The whole ethos of sports at TASIS is based around exposure, inclusion, and sportsmanship. The no-cut policy allows all children to try their hand at any sport offered without fear of being eliminated. The focus is on trying something new, taking risks, learning how to be a member of a team, and how to balance your responsibilities as a student and an athlete. It is a program where new athletes are given the chance to rise up next to those highly skilled in their sport. We always say about TASIS that they value the sportsmanship over the score and we have found this to be the case across the six different sports in which our family has been involved. Whether a seasoned athlete or a newbie, you will receive support, challenge, and an incredible learning experience outside of the classroom. To say we feel incredibly lucky to have found this gem of a school does not do our feelings justice. A move abroad – or any, for that matter – is a scary and difficult prospect for any family. TASIS has truly been the shining star of our move and we will be forever grateful for the gifts our children have received by being a part of this exceptional community.

There are many excellent schools in the London area but the combination of excellent academics and careful attention to each student and family at TASIS is unparalleled. The community of the school supports each student thoroughly through every transition whether it is an international move or a change in classes. We could ask for better for our student.

Both of my children have attended TASIS for the past three years. It is a wonderful school with excellent, personalized academics, but what really stands out is the focus on community. TASIS is an incredibly diverse place with students from every corner of the globe and school leaders are dedicated to building community amongst the student body. As a parent, I appreciate the ‘no phones’ policy and the emphasis on encouraging students to try new things. The beautiful, pastoral setting doesn’t hurt either, and the campus feels like a world unto itself.

Tasis is the best thing that happened to our kids and our family as a whole. With no hesitation I would recommend this welcoming and stimulating, school which takes pride in the education and wellbeing of our children.

This is a fantastic private school that deserves to be ranked with the best of what we have been exposed to in New England, London and New York. The academics are the best provided by any American school in England and I suspect Europe. They are able to challenge highly motivated academic students, but are also able to provide support to less academic children, to a point. Don't let the college list fool you, the demographics of the school may keep this list from reading like a New England prep school, but the teaching, curriculum and student body will challenge any student. Equally important, the pastoral care is second to none. This school actually cares about its children. The lengths they will go to protect them emotionally is unbelievable. This is perhaps why they don't have anywhere near the suspension and expulsion rates of some other American schools. The children are truly celebrated for their strengths, kindnesses and academic abilities are consistently valued and rewarded, and it truly nurtures children in an idyllic environment.

As an American ex-pat living in England, I cannot think of a better school for my children. When we moved here from China, we looked at all of the area schools, even a couple in London but couldn't find the right fit. When we stumbled upon TASIS we knew we'd found the perfect school for both of our children. TASIS challenges them while offering support and understanding at the same time. It cares for the wellbeing of the student and has an incredible community of support. From Buddy Families, to transition team support, grade level coffees. My children have blossomed over the last two years here. We plan to stay for another 4 years. I highly recommend taking a look at TASIS.

My son joined TASIS a year ago, after ten years at a different school in another country. His (and therefore our) transition was very smooth; this is due both to the exceptional assistance given to new families and to the dedication of his teachers. Class sizes are small therefore teachers are able to address individual needs and strengths. Standards and expectations are high, but students are well supported and lessons/classes are designed to bring out the best in each student. The teachers clearly love their jobs. Communication between parents and teachers is age appropriate. In HS (where he is), students are encouraged to advocate for themselves, but parents are kept in the loop. The parent body is extremely active and very welcoming. This is especially important where families are new to the UK and know few people outside of school. In short, our move to TASIS has been a resounding success and my son is thriving.

This is our second year at TASIS, and it has been a very good move for us. It has been academically challenging for my kids, and they are both much happier at TASIS than they were at their previous school. The heart of the school is what makes such a difference. The parent community is very welcoming. For the most part, the kids support each other, and the teachers seem to care about the students.
