Well, where do i start. My poor dad was taken into ward 4 a week ago, then moved to ward 8. His care was exceptional from the start to the end. All the staff were so kind and caring and went above and beyond. Special thanks to Allison in ward 4 and lovely Lisa in ward 8 ❤️

Just had emergency surgery for appendicitis yesterday morning after being admitted on Sunday evening following a GP referral! I cannot fault the care at all! My first hospital admission ever and the first I’ve had in Scotland since moving from England. As a nurse who worked in NHS back home, the care here was amazing and so much faster. They were efficient and quick with all tests and diagnosis and the care I received was preventative and they took every precaution to make sure I didn’t get any worse. I stayed on Ward 4 and was discharged today. Thank you so much for all your care and making me feel at ease and well looked after. Amazing team and has really given me faith in the NHS here, especially when I know how tough the system is currently!

I woke up on a Wednesday morning with a painful and swollen right lower leg and feeling very unwell. From then until Friday evening I was unable to sleep or eat and by then, being a pensioner, alone, in pain, exhausted and desperate, for the first time in my life I phoned for an ambulance. Unfortunately I didn’t meet the criteria. I somehow managed the fairly short drive to University Hospital Hairmyres hoping that someone might diagnose the problem and perhaps dispense some advice and drugs, but it didn’t work like that. The moment I arrived I was intercepted by a young woman who looked at my leg and immediately took me to an examination room. Very shortly I was examined by a doctor who diagnosed a serious infection. I was put on an intravenous drip, taken to a ward and put to bed. I stayed in that bed, receiving continuous monitoring and treatment for six days. I encountered staff from cleaners to the lovely tea lady, the porters, nurses, trainee doctors and doctors. Throughout my time there I felt I could not have been in more caring and competent hands. Having managed to survive more than seventy years without needing hospital treatment I have nothing to compare this to but a hospital must surely be judged on the quality of its staff. On that basis University Hospital Hairmyres is a superb establishment. I had a further six days treatment as an out patient at University Hospital Monklands. Here my experience was confined to the OPAT unit but again, I could not have found a kinder, more caring and competent group of people. I really cannot sufficiently thank the staff at both these hospitals for the wonderful treatment I received.

My 92 year old mother spent 12 days there. The care given to her was exemplary. Nurses always on hand who genuinely cared for the patients, not seeing them as nuisances. They always had a smile on their face and took the time to chat to each patient. I also found the staff happy to discuss matters and supporting of families too. We'll done to everyone in Ward 13

Best hospital I've been in yet. Not like Wishaw General, because that's a great hospital if you want to "die" quickly. Always been looked after by the staff and cared well.

My husband attended the audiology department this morning. I can't praise Kelly enough for the help and advice she gave him. She was professional, pleasant and cheerful.

I had a full hip replacement on Wednesday this week, rather an uncomfortable experience all round. But the staff in the wards were excellent. I would like to thank them very much for their care and assistant.

I had a partial knee replacement recently. I have to say I was really well looked after. What a lovely bunch of people, very pleasant and supportive and that means every member of staff, they all had a role to play in my recovery. I cannot thank them enough. The food was very good as well, no complaints there. No one wants to be in hospital but the team on ward 7 made it a positive experience.
