Went in for a broken foot during football stempber 24 and a broken hand dec 24 staff were pleasant and friendly also the waiting times 5-20 mins to get seen but I don’t know during winter times and summer winter time could be up to 2 hours but they also have free parking also it’s really unfair for 2 parents can’t even go in ? Covid was litro 5 years ago how they can’t even let a child with their own family during 2025?

I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at this service and feel compelled to speak out. I attended with my 3-year-old child, which was already a stressful situation, and was made to wait over 6 hours before being seen. After this excessive wait, we were assessed for approximately 3 minutes and discharged immediately with no treatment, no medication, and very limited explanation. The lack of urgency, efficiency, and clear communication was shocking. At no point did I feel reassured, supported, or that my concerns as a parent were taken seriously. Waiting this long with a young child only to be rushed out without meaningful engagement is unacceptable. The overall environment felt disorganised and poorly managed. Staff interactions came across as dismissive and ego-driven rather than compassionate or patient-focused. This is not the standard of care anyone should expect, especially when dealing with unwell children. While I understand that services are under pressure, this does not excuse the lack of professionalism, empathy, or basic communication shown during this visit. This service is not fit for purpose in its current state. Serious improvements are needed in staffing, management, and patient care processes. Parents should not be made to feel dismissed after waiting hours for help. This has opened my eyes to the issues in this country and has pushed me into a decision that I never thought I would consider which is to vote for real change in this cesspit of a country I will be raising this experience formally and would strongly caution others to do the same if they are treated in a similar way.

They are now not even allowing both parents inside the waiting rooms. How is 1 parent supposed to handle a child, especially when the child is very sick! Pathetic.

I have not personally used the NHS in the UK, but I have accompanied a friend several times to help overcome the language barrier. Unfortunately, I found that the staff did not treat him with respect, did not smile, and had a pessimistic expression, which made the experience seem unwelcoming.

I don’t get why people are complaining about the wait time . It’s nhs not your private setup !! And when ur child is called in for a quick consultation the nurse there will know whether it’s an “emergency” or not . Ps for the many parents moaning - go ahead and get private medical treatment !! Plenty out there !

Absolutely ridiculous. New definition of Emergency means you should wait for 6 hours for see the doctor.20 nurses and just 1 doctor.

I hope you're children never ever get unwell to go to the emergency department. We waited almost 5 hours to see the doctor. Absolutely rubbish no where to seat. This place need a good manager to shake up.
