This nursery is an absolute disgrace. My child has been attending for the past 10 months, and it has been nothing but chaos from the start. The staff are rude, uninterested, and downright careless. When I collect my child, they barely acknowledge me — too busy gossiping with each other to give even the most basic information about my child’s day. It is painfully obvious they do not care about the children in their care. The neglect is shocking. My child came home covered in bite marks, and not a single member of staff could explain how it happened. Apparently no one saw a thing — which only proves they aren’t supervising the children properly. This is unacceptable and dangerous. The constant staff turnover is another huge red flag. There are different faces in the rooms almost every day, and not once has anyone bothered to introduce themselves. It feels like staff are walking in and out with no stability or accountability. To top it off, I once witnessed a staff member crying at the door as I was leaving — hardly reassuring for parents who are trusting this place with their children. This nursery is chaotic, unprofessional, and unsafe. They fail on every level, and I would not recommend it to anyone. In fact, I wouldn’t even trust them to look after a pet, let alone a child. Avoid this place at all costs.

Send my daughter here and this is her second nursery. Very very happy with all the team here. My daughter’s key worker is amazing and genuinely makes us feel our daughter is properly cared for. We stayed for a little bit one afternoon for a Father’s Day stay and play and you could see the bond that they had made. It was heartwarming to see. If we had another baby we wouldn’t hesitate to send them here. Thank you to all the staff for all the amazing work you do!

Having had my child in 3 different nursery, I have a fairly good idea of what good looks like. This nursery is utter chaos. On induction day, the nursery manager didn't even know we were coming despite several email communications. The lady doing the inductions barely spoke to my little one for the 3 days. So much for trying to welcome a child to a new setting. There is no structure. Kids just spend time outside from early morning. There is no personal attention, and ratios are out of control. In the space of two weeks, we had missing bottles, hats, and bags. Highly recommend looking elsewhere. These people do not care about the children and are severely understaffed or over subscribed. There are one or two good staff members, but this overshadowed by poor management.

I am writing this review out of deep concern and frustration with the way Fennies Purley nursery is being managed. From what I have observed, the management—particularly the manager and deputy manager—spend most of their time in the office, completely disconnected from what’s happening in the rooms. There is a noticeable lack of structure and oversight, and the result is utter chaos. In the preschool room, there are approximately 20 children being taken outside for the majority of the day. The key workers sit in the shade while the children are left to wander and entertain themselves with no real engagement or supervision. There are no structured or educational activities happening—just aimless outdoor time, regardless of the weather. Most of the children don’t even have hats on in the sun, which is extremely concerning from a safety and wellbeing standpoint. To make matters worse, children’s personal belongings are often misplaced or scattered around with no apparent system for tracking them. Items go missing, and there seems to be no accountability or organisation in place to prevent it. Perhaps most disheartening is the superficial approach to education. Activities are occasionally set up, but it is blatantly obvious that these are only done for the sake of uploading pictures to the family app. In reality, there is little to no meaningful learning or development being fostered here. It’s all for show. Fennies Purley does not live up to the standards one would expect from a professional childcare setting. I would strongly recommend parents look elsewhere if they are seeking a nursery where their children will be cared for, properly supervised, and genuinely supported in their learning and development. Sadly, this place feels more like a daycare in disarray than an early years educational setting. It’s a farce—and a joke.

My daughter works here, she passed out at work twice but had to continue with her working day, has been refused her medication and is bullied on a daily basis. From what she says on how the nursery is run its a disgrace and should be closed down. Every single day she phones and comes home crying upset and stressed out. She is clearly being picked on and victimized by these bullies.... Do not apply for a job here nor send your child to be cared for here. When my daughter showed symptoms of corona virus she still had to work without being asked to do a test, leaving the children open to infection. Ofsted will also be getting a report. Nappy and dietary breaches happen often also.

This nursery should be avoided at all costs. It has an extremely high staff turning over and in less than 2 years it has had 5 managers. A lot of the staff seem to be young and unqualified. It was good up until Karen the assistant manager left in September 2022. But has since taken a nose dive. They claim to cook fresh meals for the children; however, they were caught on several occasions buying ready meals (high in salt) and sandwiches for the children from a local supermarket. WITHOUT informing parents. So don't be sold on them creating so called 'fresh meals' for children. Also, I would be weary of sending your child here if they have an allergy. Just check the recent OFSTED reports 'concerns action needed' dated 14th October 2022 and 19th December 2022. This nursery is overpriced, yet barely doing any good activities with the children. With children currently leaving in droves. Lastly, the fact that this nursery was downgraded from Outstanding to Good in June 2021 after concerns were raised to OFSTED by a parent, yet they still have an outstanding plaque outside the nursery. Screams the false information they will feed you. Beware!

Fennies Purley is an excellent nursery. Our daughter has attended since she was very small and the staff have always been very professional and caring. The level of communication with parents is excellent and our daughter has learnt so much. We have had excellent management but particularly for the last year the deputy manager Karen has been brilliant. Any issues or queries are dealt with straight away. Thank you guys for looking after our girl so well.

My daughter absolutely loves her time at Fennies and as a first time mum going back to work, I couldn’t have felt more comfortable leaving her in Jaimie, Lucy and all the staff’s amazing care. Everyone at Fennies Purley (especially my daughter’s key person) have been so kind and smiley, it makes me want to spend the day there rather than going to work!! We visited a few local nurseries but Fennies Purley was the front runner from within minutes of our initial visit. They have high standards and genuinely care for all the children. They have removed the stress of going back to work after maternity and leaving my daughter for long hours because I know she really enjoys her time there and learns something new every day!

We are very happy with this Fennies. Our daughter absolutely loves it and often doesn't want to leave. Her key persons have all been lovely, very supportive and instrumental to her developmental milestones. They are more expensive than some of the other nurseries we originally visited, but we have found the staff to be very attentive to her needs and strive to make sure she is developing well.
