My son started his flying experience with EFG last year aged 14. He has had the BEST experience ever with these lovely people. His instructor Seamus has been absolutely amazing and Ollie would not have progressed as far as he has without him and his patience & guidance. We don’t see Seamus as just an instructor, Ollie very much regards him as a friend. Everybody in the school have been so helpful and friendly and I would highly recommend EFG to anybody thinking of getting into aviation.

I obtained my PPL fairly recently in March 2025. I wouldn't have chosen a better place to learn. Not only is Biggin Hill a great place to learn how to communicate with a Full ATC service, (also cool to be surrounded by private jets and spitfires) but the team at EFG itself are truly amazing. I started with Akram on a trial flight (who later took me on my first solo,) then over to Seamus who did the majority of my training and Mark who took my test. Massive thanks to Seamus who prepared me very well for my test. He would always pick me up on the minor details and ensure that I was fully on the ball with every aspect of flight. As he always says, the hard work is in the preparation, which later makes the flight the easy bit. Also massive thanks to Anna, along with other members of the operations team for helping me keep a track of my schedule, always notifying me about when my instructors were available etc, and being very kind, patient and helpful. And of course thanks to Anoop and his family who founded EFG and made it what it is. If there is ever a maintenance issue with an aircraft, it is taken to the maintenance hanger and within short time is back up and running safely again. They have also added an Arrow and a Seneca to the fleet recently, so there are lots of options for hire purposes.

EFG – What an Amazing Flight School! From the moment I arrived, everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. My instructor, Seamus, was amazing — very understanding and made the flight both fun and enjoyable. Anna at the front desk was also super kind and helpful. The whole team made me feel right at home with their professionalism and warmth. Even though I live far away, it was totally worth it — that’s why I’ve decided to start my Private Pilot Licence training with EFG!

Its absolutely brilliant at EFG flying school. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get there PPL. The instructors there are all brilliant. Seamus Fogarty is by far the best instructor there, letting you get youre hands on the controlls during takeoff and landing in your early stages of lesson. EFG have a good fleet of Piper pa28 aircraft and the airport is perfect for young aspiring pilots as the busy aerodrome gives students a feel for what it is like flying in and out of a large airport and following different taxi ways. There is also a Cafe just next to the flying school with outdoor seating meaning that you can have a bite to eat and a drink and sit outside watching the aircraft (and spitfire) takeoff and land before your lesson.

What an experience - with the great assistance of my flying instructor, Carmen, and the team at EFG, I passed my PPL in 45 hours! From first meeting Anna on the front desk, to completing my practical exams with Roger, I have been encouraged beyond measure to achieve my goals by all. I would 100% recommend undertaking your flight training at EFG, what great fun! Thank you all.

Ok, this is for those who consider getting a PPL there. My instructor John was brilliant. Others looked ok too. The staff at the counter is a bit below satisfactory standards but it’s not a big deal. The issue is not with the school but with the Biggin Hill aerodrome where the school is based at. The aerodrome is designed for business jets, and they hate small planes there. The landing fee was £45 in 2022, the highest I’ve ever seen so far. Plus, all training flights are prohibited there. Therefore, for every circuit training, solo etc (the vast majority of all flights) you must go to Southend or Leeds. This adds up minimum an hour to each flight. Because of that, no one can complete the course within legal 55 hours. So, once I ran out of a prepaid package of 55 hours I had to pay for the flight time to Southend and back and the Biggin landing fee on top of what I would have paid if my school was not in Biggin. In total, you overpay about £300 for each flight. To be honest there are some advantages as you got more experience, especially with big busy aerodromes, airspace, ATC and all that. But going back I’d prefer to get the PPL elsewhere and have a few training flights to big airports. I personally had to pay £7300 on top of a standard package to complete my course in the end. No issues renting there apart from the landing fee and all experience flights are highly recommended!

I just want or love to say thus us not just an ordinary flying school this is my where my life and journey as a pilot is. The staff Anoop and Carmen have been angels on my shoulder. I am very ever more than thankfull that I've been included as part of their family since 2016. Carmen and Anoop Christian hasn't only just been my flying director and flying instructor. They have been part of my life and they really know my circumstances. But they never give up on me. I'll keep with them all my life and always keep contact. I'm so blessed with these pilots and instructor assistant and mentor . Thank you all for being there for me. So anyone wants to do flying. Please visit EFG biggin hill as this is an amazing environment.

Very professional. My daughter loved her flying lesson. They were running a little behind schedule that's why I gave the 4 star but I'm probably being a bit harsh. We were offered a drink while we waited and didn’t really wait too long.
