   We've been attending Angela’s Swim School NWKent from Sep 2022 until March 2024, starting at the Hilton Dartford and moving to Dartford Grammar in Jan 2023 to dodge the regular traffic. It was one of the few places offering evening slots for my two-year-old, a rarity since most preschool sessions are daytime, clashing with our work schedules. The cost for child group lessons in the Dartford area was about £198 per 12-week term, now increased to £212.40. A typical downside, like most swim schools, is the absence of classes during non-term time. My primary concern, however, was the limited progression for my boys. Despite starting confidently in the water, their advancement seemed to plateau. I'm all for mastering the basics without haste, but observable progress is equally important. On several occasions, the younger staff appeared more engaged in sharing weekend tales and gossiping amongst themselves than in teaching. This not only detracted from the focus and quality of instruction but also contributed to the overall noise and confusion. The classes felt overcrowded and chaotic, with 5-6 groups crammed into the pool simultaneously, each with about 9 students. The noise level was high, and the setting felt less conducive to learning and more akin to a noisy crèche. Moreover, the limited visibility for parents to watch their children’s development—restricted to a small window—was disappointing. It's only natural to want to witness your child's progress firsthand. This setup appeared more profit-driven than quality-focused. While financial viability is crucial for any business, the quality of service shouldn't take a back seat. In contrast, Fairfield Leisure offers lessons at £36 per swimmer per month, with weekly sessions even during school holidays and complimentary pool access outside class times. Located just 3 minutes from Dartford Grammar, the cost-effectiveness is stark: £8.31 per week at Fairfield versus £17.70 at Dartford Grammar—a £9.39 difference. In summary, while Angela’s Swim School provides valuable evening sessions for working parents, the experience and progression left something to be desired. Focusing on smaller classes and a more engaging learning environment could significantly enhance the value and effectiveness of their offering.

   Stay clear is my advice Inconsistent swimming instructors , changing nearly every week. Don't want parents at the pool side even tho guests at the hotel can use the pool at the same time . Paid for the new term thinking it was just teething problems , attended one lesson and was shocked they have no telephone number where you can talk through concerns and all contact is via email. Refused a refund even though my main concern was a safety one . I would not recommend

   My son enjoyed his crash course during the summer holidays. This was his first swim experience and a very positive one. He felt at ease with the instructor in the pool and has now joined the termly lessons. I’m so pleased with how well he is progressing. Would highly recommend the crash course and weekly lessons.
