Got rejected from English Literature with no real explanation and didn’t even get to show an example of my written work. How are you supposed to show them your potential if they don’t even take a look at your ability to analyze literature? No essays or written work were requested during the application process. The personal statement doesn’t count give that it doesn’t allow you to shine when it comes to literary theory and analysis. I was switching over from majoring in music in the US to wanting to study English Literature so I get that it was a long shot, but given that I have a genuine passion for literature and writing, it’s a shame I didn’t get a chance to prove myself.

What started as a simple idea to take a look around the university buildings of Edinburgh turned into a private tour in and around several of them, led by Calum Porter, the charming janitor. While we were still admiring the buildings from the outside, Calum approached us and asked if we’d like to see a bit more. From there, one surprise followed another. We were guided through various rooms and buildings of the university — breathtaking spaces that even many locals don’t seem to know about. The highlight was undoubtedly the university’s graduation hall, though we’ll never forget the “shiny bum” at the Old College either. We can honestly say this tour was the highlight of our exploration of this beautiful city. Thanks again, Calum!

Stayed in University student dormitiry room while attending the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (available on Booking.com). Four nights in a single room (shared bathroom) with breakfast included ran about $125 USD per night. Beautiful campus, clean and comfortable room, plenty of hot water. Highly recommend for solo travelers. Great price for housing during Fringe when prices go sky high.

My daughter is an international student there, and she is having the best time of her life! The school is beautiful and has a rich history. My only complaint is the souvenir store. The service isn’t great at all, and they don’t have a variety of merchandise to buy!

I recently visited the University of Edinburgh, and I was thoroughly impressed! The campus is beautifully spread throughout the city, blending seamlessly with its surroundings. The availability of useful tourist information guides made our visit even more enjoyable, and we appreciated the free Wi-Fi throughout the area. The architecture of the buildings is stunning, showcasing a rich history and vibrant atmosphere. We were fortunate to meet a friendly student who offered us an impromptu tour, which added a personal touch to our experience. Highly recommend visiting if you're in Edinburgh!

Their student portal website is useless and terribly made and their expectations on grades are ridiculous, you get turned away from a course without them even looking at your portfolio, it doesn't matter if you're talented. If you're not academically smart enough, they turn you away. Pathetic really, they have and will lose so many talented students with high potential.

Edinburgh university is one of those places You wish to study in just because of its’ gorgeous architecture. It seems that this place has been steeped in knowledge and wisdom for centuries. And You just want to be a part of it. Almost the real Hogwarts in Scotland.

The worst university ever. I can't imagine why they give you uncountable pages of readings a week while the tutors teach you nothing about how to write an essay. My friends studying in York and Exeter say they can understand everything from their lectures and readings are just additional things. Avoid this rubbish place
