   Our stay at Gavinburn Cottages was nothing short of exceptional. Nestled in the tranquil Kilpatrick Hills, the location offered breathtaking views of the River Clyde and the surrounding countryside. Whether enjoying a morning coffee on the sun terrace or unwinding by the log-burning stove in the evening, every moment was a delight. The cottage was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully equipped. The welcome starter pack was such a lovely touch — full of essentials and local treats that made us feel instantly at home. We used the cottage as a perfect base to explore the area. Highlights included a trip to the Riverside Museum (Transport Museum), a scenic boat trip on Loch Lomond, and enjoying local pubs and entertainment. We even had a great evening out bowling nearby! Hosts Alex and Leigh-Anne were warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, making sure everything was just right for our stay. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality made the experience all the more special. Gavinburn Cottages is an ideal retreat for both relaxation and adventure. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

   We stayed in the Macallan for a week. Loved it. Highly recommend any of the cottages as we have stayed before. The Macallan has a great 180 degree panoramic view across to Glasgow, Erskine, Old Kilpatrick and the Clyde; so chuffed to catch sight of the Waverley paddle steamer heading ‘doon the watter’. Great location for getting to both the city and the countryside. The accommodation is excellent, very well equipped (better than most holiday cottages we have stayed in), very spacious - bathroom with good wide shower, comfortable beds, and bright open plan living room. There is a separate utility room which houses your own freezer, washing machine, and cleaning goods cupboard. Good car parking, including electric car charging. The road to the cottages is single track and shared with walkers and bikers, so best stop and give room. Highly recommend.

   Alex and Leigh-Anne were amazing hosts. Their cottage was well presented, clean and well stocked. All of the appliances and utensil were of a high quality. Even the little things like having a laundry basket in the bedrooms, just add to making the cottage a home away from home. The location is central enough to experience the best that Scotland has to offer. Also loads of local walks for our 4 legged friend. I would recommend an amazing place to stay.

   We first visited here in 1986 - we loved it then - but now it is just amazing! We stayed in Auchentoshan - the larger of the cottages - and it is beautiful! They have thought of EVERYTHING! The location is brilliant. The views are outstanding! We can't recommend it enough!

   This was a visit back to my old stamping ground and could not have selected better accommodation. The cottage was beautiful presented and extremely well equipped - the owners had thought of everything. The location is first class with views to die for. I have only given the cottage 5 stars because there wasn't an option for 6! Very happy to recommend and we will definitely return.
