   I honestly cannot recommend the team at First Mortgage, Edinburgh Newington branch highly enough — especially Ashton and Shannon. Ashton has been absolutely outstanding from start to finish. He was constantly on the ball, replying to everything straight away and keeping the whole process moving at pace. His communication was second to none — clear, fast, and reassuring — and I genuinely feel that if it wasn’t for Ashton being so proactive and on top of everything, I probably wouldn’t even have a house. I literally cannot fault him. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable and smart at what he does, but he’s also funny, approachable, and never once made the process feel boring or overwhelming (which is saying a lot for mortgages!). He always made time for me, even on weekends, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. An absolute credit to his profession. I also really want to highlight Shannon, who handles all of the paperwork and behind-the-scenes work. Her role is just as important, and she was fantastic throughout. Everything was organised, smooth, and stress-free thanks to her attention to detail and efficiency. I didn’t feel forgotten or left chasing things — the admin side was handled brilliantly. Together, Ashton and Shannon make an exceptional team. If you’re looking for mortgage advice where you feel supported, listened to, and genuinely cared for, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.    An exceptional service. All thanks to Nicola Williamson and Claire Gunn who guided me through every step of the process with complete clarity, honesty and efficiency. I was a young first-time buyer looking to buy my first place in Edinburgh, with no experience in housing/property. Other than the preconceptions that it’s a vastly complex and unfriendly process. However, right from the start Nicola could not have made it more simple, friendly, efficient and actually exciting. Nicola introduced me to all the options, navigating through all the requirements and decisions, taking the time to ensure they are right for me. And importantly explaining every variable in great detail. Her expert advice allowed us to craft exactly what I was after. Both Nicola and Claire were helpfully checking in with me and keeping me on track at each stage. They were adaptable and took serval video calls with me to cover important information, and always responsive on email. Nicola and Claire’s help from First Mortgage is the only part of the (expensive) process that is free, they honestly are by your side and standing with you throughout everything. Nicola and Claire made First Mortgage completely feel like a one stop shop, where they take care of everything, recommending solicitors, recommending banks, property listings websites and apps, tools to calculate what I can afford, dashboards to show me my monthly spending. You’re dealing with people on your side putting care and effort in to get you into the home you want in the easiest way and at the best price. I hold them at such high regard and will be using First Mortgage for every future service I need. Nicola and Claire really made this far easier, clearer and more exciting than I was led to believe it would be. I hope their kindness and outstanding help will be recognised and rewarded.

   First mortgages were amazing. As first time buyers the whole thought of mortgages was overwhelming however first mortgages (Ciaran and Shannon specifically) managed to make the experience stress free. They made it very clear what we needed to do and always responded promptly. Both Ciaran and Shannon were very organizad and approachable and made sure to keep us up to date. Couldn't recommend them enough.

   To put it simply. If it had not been for Ashton and Claire at the Clerk Street branch, my partner and I would not have found our home yet. Ashton was recommended to us by a friend. We had our meeting with them in August and we moved by the end of next month. Could not have asked for better service and advice. Their communication was fast and clear, the whole process was actually very enjoyable. Amazing considering we're in a financial crisis with unexpected interest rates etc. In all honesty, I don't have any criticism of the team at first mortgage at all. I wouldn't be a home owner without them. Thanks again Ashton and Claire. You were brilliant.

   First time applying for a Mortgage and First Mortgage were great from start to finish! Nick and Claire were very professional, knowledgeable and gave advice with our best interests as a priority. They were very thorough in explaining the process and were able to answer all questions very swiftly. They had excellent, up to date market knowledge and seemed to have access to the very best deals on the market. They were also very accommodating and did their best to arrange calls and meetings around our schedules and even outside normal working hours. If you're looking for a mortgage or looking to use a broker I would highly recommend First Mortgage as their brokers/staff are excellent.
