I started at the school just after it opened in 1977, I was 7 years old and gad just moved there. Best primary school I had ever been to.
An amazing school. It's always been consistently good. I previously attended school along with my little sister. (1990s) Also my cousins(2000s) have attended. Currently my nephews and nieces are currently going to Caldercuilt. The school and teaching staff have always been great. (Tough but fair). I went there when Mrs Eileen Bell(a very strict lady) was running the place.(I also had the pleasure of previously meeting the late founder of the school, Mrs Gisele Flockheart a lovely and witty french lady who could insult someone and make them feel great. A brief shout out to the amazing teachers whilst there. P1 Mrs Moss (later changed her name to Ms Robin) P2Mrs Campbell P3 Mrs Flacherty P4 Mrs Munro P5 Mrs Fleming P6 Ms Robin (see Mrs Moss) P7 Mrs Stevenson (and some supply teachers during Mrs Stevensons maternity) All the above teachers were very hardworking and enthusiastic. They really pushed me out of my comfort zone and during some hard periods of bereavement and they were very incredibly supportive to the family. I think the only teacher still present when I attended was Mrs Stevenson(who had just started that year). I think everyone else who worked there during my time has moved on. Regarding my cousins and nephews/nieces who attended after me and some of whom still attend its a great school. Great teachers. They push the kids to be the best they can be as well as letting them be kids. At the time of my attendance I was on the few POC pupils but surprisingly experienced zero bullying or racism. Enjoyed my time there.
