Shocking customer service from the β€˜Collections Department’. Think her name was Kirsty? Rude, dismissive and kept interrupting me. She wouldn’t let me speak so I had to specifically tell her to stop talking so I could speak. Said she wasn’t interested in my reference details of which I reminded her by law that she has to note them down. I then informed her I withdraw my consent to verbal communication (especially if they deal with customers in her manner). Absolutely shocking attitude and I really hope that call was recorded for training purposes because she is in dire need of some. Will not ever be speaking to this company again and will not be back.

Shocking customer service and support. Spoke with a customer advisor for the third time today at 9:40 am regarding double payment taken of a loan payment. The agent was rude, indifferent, and refused to escalate my complaint. Asked to speak with a manager and told no, at best it would take two days for a call back. Kept being told the same excuse over and over that it will be resolved, but it hasn’t been reimbursed. Absolutely disgusted with the attitude of the agent. Cannot recommend this bank at all. The issue remains unresolved.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Taking a loan from this company, is the worst decision I’ve ever made. A year or so back, my handbag was stolen and my cards cancelled, cancelling my repeat payments. I attempted to call Castle over a dozen times to set this back up, they don’t bother answering their phones at any time. Desperate, as I was missing payments, I emailed them several times - no reply. Eventually, I found bank details online and transferred funds and emailed them to let them know. Yet, they still added defaults to my credit file, negatively impacting my my credit rating. Eventually, after threatening to go to the ombudsman, they deemed it appropriate to respond to me, and promised (in writing - a chap named Paul Drury who has been at best, unresponsive and unhelpful) that my direct debit had been set up. It hasn’t. The following month , I contacted them again ignored - the month after, the same. I then start getting letters from a debt collection agency, they have sold my debt to! After a further complaint via email (still no answers in their phone line), I received an apology, my direct debit was finally set up and a promise of a Β£25 credit to my loan. That credit has never been applied. Now, I have finally reached my final payment - they of course, have taken the usual direct debit and still no credit so have just over Β£50 of my money not owed. This is yet to be resolved as I am still being ignored. If you are thinking of taking a loan from this absolute sham of a company, I urge you to run as far and fast as you can in the opposite direction.

Had a total of four fixed rate savings accounts with Castle Community Bank (via my community finance) and I quite honestly can't fault them. The savings rates on offer are always very competitive (beat most high street banks hands down) The account opening process online is very straight forward and efficient. Once you have added your funds you have access to your online portal, where you can log in daily and see your interest growing. On the odd occasion I've need to speak to someone, they are always very efficient and polite. I quite honestly can't say a bad word about them. First class service and I would have no hesitation in recommending them for both savings and borrowing. A big thank you to all the teams at both Castle Community Bank and My Community Finance.

It says on there website 24/7 access to your savings and withdraws, well I had an emergency at the weekend and can't even login to my account complete joke. Stay with real banks , atleaet if you need to access you're MONEY you can 24/7. I liked the idea at first but services is terrible two days a week only open. Every misleading.

Exceptionally misleading! Is it even legal for a company to send you a signed agreement before they've performed a credit check? My experience is identical to the first reviewer here. Utterly misleading company and the complete opposite of what they say they are. I'm currently paying for a high interest credit card. A loan would be a lower rate of interest so after seeing castle community bank advertised, I liked what I thought they were about. No high interest, no high threshold, designed exactly for my situation (lifting people out the cycle of high interest) and it goes back into the community? Perfect! Except that's not what it is. I applied for the consolidation loan and was accepted. I had no reason to think I wouldn't (credit rating well enough to get high rate credit card in the firt place remember). I even recieved my own personalised interest rate. Not great, but better than the credit card. I recieved a contract. I signed the contract and sent it back. This is when it gets weird. Few days later (yes, days) I get an email from them declining (remember, I've already been accepted, and signed an agreement). When I asked why they refused to tell me. "Credit rating". Well durrr that's why I'm applying with you and not a high street bank? That's why you hit me with ridiculous interest. So essentially; they try and be a bank for people with poor credit (they aren't, their credit acceptance is as high as a retail bank). They try and get you away from loan sharks (by charging 20% and 40% interest? don't make me laugh!) and they have a bizarre highly misleading application system. I was fortune as I had read the reviews as was sceptical but I truly can't believe the FCA permits this? Don't waste your time here unless your credit rating is perfect (go to a bank) or you want a good interest rate (go to bank). Their entire "service" is utterly pointless. Oh and FYI - funny after the first bad review there were four almost word for word indentical good reviews all made within the same space of a week. Make of that what you will.

Great friendly and efficient staff. Loan application process was quick and easy and money was in my account same day. No shareholders, no big bonuses, owned by the depositors. Great community spirit!!

The website of this company is misleading. After stating that loans are given an "Instant decision" and after being told the loan application was "approved" we were then told (a few days later) that it in fact was not approved and that there was no appeal process. Their website paints a totally different picture of what is supposed to go down. We did contact the company to sort it out, but nothing was sorted out.
