Avoid!! As a first time buyer I had a horrible experience with both the mortgage advisor and solicitor in the Elm Row Office whilst buying my flat last year. My solicitor left the company half way through the process and I wasn't informed. I was constantly having to chase things that weren't being done as well as being told things at one stage and then being told something else later (and told I was wrong to believe the first thing - recommend keeping everything documented in emails!). The mortgage advisor kept blaming others in his team, and only really seemed interested in selling vitality life insurance.

I made the mistake of going with Aberdein Considine to sell & buy a flat, as I was able to get discount on their fee through work. They vastly undersold my old flat - they pressured me to accept the first offer that came along, despite the fact it was a low offer and I owned an incredible flat. Their manner was unprofessional - went I wavered on accepting the bid, they became upset and told me I needed to accept it straight away. When it came to buying a flat, they were just as poor - pressuring me to place bids / up my bids for properties I didn't even want. They refused to listen to my preferences and concerns, and it was clear they just wanted me to hurry up and buy something. These transactions had huge repercussions for me, and it was one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made. I regret letting myself be swayed by this company. I was just a number to them, and all they wanted was the commission from the sale & the purchase no matter what. Stay well away.

Unfortunately I had the worst experience with Aberdein Considine. I experienced a lot of delays (months) which mostly went unexplained and my complaints have been ignored throughout the process. It is really sad as I chose them due to all the good reviews. Not a service I would expect in a professional environment.

From the initial contact for a valuation through to the marketing and sale of my house, the service from Aberdein Considine has been excellent. Finlay, Dawn and Alana were so supportive taking the stress away from the process, and their confidence was reassuring. Alanaβs knowledge and advice on the current market was particularly helpful and she negotiated a great deal for me. Hoping my new purchase will be as smooth!!

Great estate agents in Edinburgh. They are a joy to deal with, staff always friendly, attentive and helpful with their communication. The branch manager Jordan, Senior Property Advisor Alana and Devon the purchase negotiator all deserve a special mention - always going the extra mile to make the buying/selling process as smooth as possible. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Not a very good experience: -scarce communication (selling/buying solicitor was either away or did not return calls). We would phone and email and only get a reply if chasing them. The process of selling and buying with AC was extremely stressful: -we signed documents at 17:15 on the day we got keys. -our selling/buying solicitor passed the 'last minute' blame on our buyers, from whom we learnt that they did not know of any issues on their part. It is a great shame we had experience this, as the firm was recommended to us. We hoped to receiving advice, and guidance on the process of selling and buying a new home. However, this dealing with AC has left us worrying about the things that may have been missed that we are not aware of.

Something always goes wrong with a house sale, even the most simple one. But having gone through a sale in Scotland and a purchase in England, the house sale in Scotland with Aberdein Considine was surprisingly very straight forward.. Wish it was that easy in England, where from the start it has been nothing but trouble. 4 stars instead of 5... well it would be great if they also covered England so we could avoid the trouble we've been having here and use one solicitor for everything.

Recently sold my flat and purchased another property using bother Aberdein Considineβs legal and estate agency services. Absolutely first class throughout the whole process, guiding you from getting your property on the market to getting the keys to your new home. Sean and Tracey on the legal side of things keep you updated at every step while Alana and the estate agency team were so supportive when marketing your property. Canβt recommend highly enough!
