I recently found Russell’s Gibson McCaffrey to represent my mother on a criminal charge and Taylor Muir was appointed to represent her. I had no confidence in them from the start. Mr Muir having not looked at the evidence in the case to a great degree, recommended that she plead guilty to the charge and even commented, “someone is going to need to go down for this.” He frequently failed to consider the circumstances of the case and consider the evidence in her defence. Instead insisting that these factors were mitigating circumstances rather than a defence. Having lost all confidence in them, I convinced my mother to plead not guilty to the charge and myself contacted the procurator fiscal with the evidence in her defence, information they had never seen. The next day the COPFS contacted us to say that the case had been dismissed and even apologised that the charges were ever brought in the first place. It’s disappointing to find that sometimes you’re better to defend yourself when you find yourself with a solicitor which is ineffective.
Mr James John Mulgrew is by far one of the best advocates that I have came across. I have known him since 2004 and as always he has offered me excellent advice and representation. He is a former prosecutor fiscal, he has extensive experience in criminal law, is a solicitor advocate and also a member of the Scottish Law Society. He is great for corporate corruption, criminal defense and has extensive experience in all aspects of civil and criminal law. I have used him for both. He is an amazing advocate of justice and will bring you success. He has worked for Fleming and Reid Solicitors for almost twenty years with both Mr Fleming and Mr Reid having now become full time sheriff's. Mr Mulgrew is by far the one you should ask for although the entire team at Russells and Gibson are excellent. A Mr Frances Moore is an amazing advocate with equal qualities.
