   Very unprofessional service received from this Solicitors. Phone consultation booked for midday Friday with Raymond Brown but advised 10 mins before that it would now be 1 hour later as Solicitor was with another client. 4 hours later and still no call, so I rang again to be advised he was now with another client but would definitely call before 5pm. Did not call. Rang on the Monday to ask if I would receive a call, advised Solicitor is not in on a Monday but would leave a note for him to call me on Tuesday. It is now Wednesday 5pm and I’m still waiting on his call. Avoid this Solicitors (or should that be this Solicitor avoids you). Where do you even start with this lack of professionalism?

   AVOID!!! I thought that as a client that my solicitor would have my best interests at heart but I was sorely mistaken. I had a telephone appointment in which I had sought advice on unlawful behaviour and knowing full well that I was clear on the law regarding my query I expected empathy, compassion and understanding. Not only did I not receive any of the above, the call was totally unprofessional and I was made to feel like a criminal. Asking for a letter to be sent to a person disobeying the law is a reasonable request in my opinion but instead I was told that they were 'unwilling' to draft a basic, non-threatening letter outlining simple legislation was unreasonable? The solicitor then threatened to terminate the call and although we continued they advised me at the end of the call to go to another solicitor and that my file would be closed. I knew that I had not been rude, aggressive or demanding so I contacted the legal Ombudsman to complain but I called the solicitor back to ask if appointments were recorded and was told that they are not? Very convenient! I have only had one appointment at their offices and this was my second and ultimately final dealings with them. I am shocked, disappointed and disgusted at being treated with such disdain and contempt and I would suggest that you look elsewhere for legal advice if you want to be treated with any degree of respect.

   Hay Cassels have been my solicitor since 1997. Prior to that I had tried three other firms in the early 1990s and found Hay Cassels to be by far the best. Thoroughly professional. Enduringly reliable. Friendly and attentive. Great with the fine print. A 23 year relationship continues because this is a first rate firm. An all round excellent legal team that I would thoroughly recommend.
