   For 37 years, preceding 15th December 2022, I was the happiest person in the world. My partner, Cathy and I were not married, neither did we have a will.But that didn’t matter, because we were happy and content. On that fateful day, everything changed. My world fell apart, Cathy passed away, suddenly.My life as I knew it, was shattered, everything was upside down, topsy turvy. It was clearly evident, by the actions and demands of Cathy’s family,that I needed to get legal representation urgently. I was referred to Ms Julie Millen, Principal of Millen Solicitors, who agreed to represent me. My emotional condition was unstable and erratic but with Ms Millen’s expertise in dealing with people who are suffering severe trauma, like me, she managed to extract and decipher all the information she needed to allay my fears and proceed with her case. In all of the meetings we’ve had, she always conducted them with total professionalism with a calm and understanding approach. I was reassured at each stage of the case which helped my mental well-being and better cope with every day life. I will always be in her debt. Ms Millen won the case.    I was disappointed with the level of service I unfortunately received from the firm truth be told for the money paid. I effectively provided the content of all of the letters that were sent via Millen solicitors. I felt like they were merely altering only a few words were here and there. Was also aghast to to be told via serving solicitor that courts are still siding with mothers with regards to residency and contact arrangements and felt like the firm were implying by this that I should somehow be grateful for the contact that was already being provided. These are surely outdated views that solicitors should be using their positions to challenge? Could not recommend this firm personally, expensive for the level of service received. Also felt it was difficult to get quick access to advice from the firm, was persistently told to make an appointment even when things were changing quickly on my side and I required quick legal advice.

   Very positive experience of Millen Solicitors and Julie Millen, in particular. My first experience of Ms Millen was when she was instructed by my terminally ill brother to help him construct his Will and advise him on other legal matters. In both regards, she was professional, helpful and sensitive. Thereafter, I engaged Ms Millen when it came time to organise my own Will and, in the last few weeks, she has been central in ensuring the return to me of PPI, owed to my late brother's estate.
