I have always had a great experience here. All of the staff have been incredibly helpful and lovely. My poor cat does not like going to the vets, but the vets have always had nothing but patience and kindness towards him!

I cannot fault the Dalkeith branch in the slightest. Have always had a lovely experience with the receptionists. They have been quick and polite when I had questions and was seeking advice on waffles eating habits. The pet health plan at £19.50 a month has saved me so much money on health checks, vaccinations and flee/worm treatment. All the vets are amazing with waffle, he can be pretty feisty and moody and they have always shown him kindness and nothing else.

Misty, tho still getting in a state, was much better yesterday. Thanks to staff who were very good. So hope it continues on our next visit.

First visit with my seven year old retriever having just moved from my previous Vet. Very happy with the service we received. Everyone could not have been more pleasant, helpful and appeared interested in both my dog and I. The Vet gave my dog a thorough checkup and asked lots of relevant questions to gain a full picture of my dogs health and any concerns that I may have going forward.

My dog Bruce actually likes coming into Braids Vets, they are always happy to see your pet and obviously their humans, they are very informative and explain everything to you about what needs to happen with your pet, all my dogs past and present have had a fantastic relationship with all the staff there. I have three pets (2 dogs and a cat) who come to Braid vets, Dalkeith and they're always amazing. They're great with advice, great with my pets (even my reactive one who doesn't let anyone touch him, they work with me to find ways around his behaviour), and they're really quick to give you an appointment and treatment when you need it.

This greed of this practice is without limits. I questioned a payment for a follow-up visit, which are, seemingly, now chargeable as regular consultation visits. The receptionist, who seems to take everything you say emotionally and personally but should be professional in her responses and attitude instead, said someone would phone me to discuss this. However, it's now very clear to me that once they take your payment, any further conversation ends. Unless, of course, you visit them again to spend more money (by the way, the bill quickly ends up being in hundreds and thousands). I phoned back a week later and although that same unprofessional receptionist answered and probably recognising my accent, she put me on hold because another customer came in! if you fall into disfavour with the receptionist, expect rude behaviour from her so that you can be aware of the fact that you're in bad books with her. After a few minutes' wait, I was finally able to continue with her to be told that the price list is next to her computer and, seemingly, on the website, too. However, I was unable to find the information about the cost of follow-up visits on the web and frankly, I have no intention of looking at what she has next to her computer, not to mention the fact that it'd be difficult to do so because of the plexi screen there. For now obvious reasons, this practice has no tact to inform you beforehand (at the time of booking and/or before the visit) of the cost of the visit, and it's now obvious to me why. Displaying a price list in an easily accessible place at the practice would also be an appropriate thing to do. All in all, not only are Braids the most expensive in town, but also the most greedy and unprofessional. I'm still waiting for that call and I find it unacceptable that it's been nearly two weeks and no-one from this practice had the decency to phone me. So, I cannot recommend Braids Vets at all. Update: three weeks after - still no call

Lulu the cat who shares her life with me was for a while an all too regular visitor for treatment here. Great care. Great staff. Treatment is not cheap but does reflect the quality of care and expertise you have access to with Braid Vets.
