Awful Awful Awful place. Would never recommend. My son who attended an interview over the summer was ment to start im September on a 4 day course. They then changed it to 3 days. Then said he couldn't start in September would have to be November. Couldn't give me the name of the course a start date or even times to start and finish. Terrible communication. For my son who has complex needs this was very upsetting. There was no structure or routine. When he did finally start and we were able to finally sort transport which was made very hard due to lack of transport information they then said he can go home early it was suppose to be 9am- 3.30pm but they said as some of the students didn't bother turning up he could just leave early. Which he couldn't so then hung around the college for an hour and a half to wait for his taxi. They then said for safeguarding not to come in for a week after he got picked on. After that he was told not to come in the following week as they would put him in with a new group of students that are soon to start. Then I get a call from his EHCP co-ordinator stating they have withdrawn his place. He now has no college placement. Waited for 3 months to start as they kept changing the start date. Finally starts and out of 3 weeks was only allowed to come in for 2 days tell him he will be changing groups and look forward to seeing him and also to me on the phone but then phones his echp to say they are retracting his placement. End of November. All other colleges now have no spaces until next year. So now a young and very vulnerable adult has no educational placement. With autism adhd, learning disability and hearing impairment we are now left with no placement and nothing for him to do which to someone with a disability this was his life his purpose its like a lifeline. I am very very disappointed with how he has been treated and the position he has been left in . The lack of communication by this so called college. My only regret is that I didn't go with another college back in the summer. Now its too late but know we have learned not all colleges cater to young adults with disabilities and they shouldn't make out that they do when clearly the treatment shows otherwise!

Iโm writing this anonymously to express my dissatisfaction with my experience, particularly with an area called Steps. While the classes and teachers may appear friendly and welcoming at first, the reality is far from ideal. The students in this program are not treated with the respect or independence one would expect from a college environment. Instead, it feels more like a secondary schoolโespecially in the Steps program. One glaring issue was how a friend of mine was treated during a challenging week. When they were visibly tired and struggling, the teacher in Steps failed to provide any meaningful support or even ask if they were okay. Instead, the teacher was unhelpful, and the situation escalated to the point where my friend was given an ultimatum: stay or leave. When my friend chose to leave, the teacher simply let them go without taking any appropriate steps, such as contacting their parents or ensuring their safety. This level of neglect is alarming, especially for students who may be dealing with personal challenges. The program also fails to support students with mental health issues. I witnessed another student with depression being ignored by the teachers, and even subjected to unkind remarks from a male classmate, who told her to โshut upโ when she tried to express herself. Such behavior from both students and staff is unacceptable, and it demonstrates a lack of understanding and care for mental health. To make matters worse, the Steps program, which is supposed to help students with social and work skills, seems to do the opposite. The environment is neither engaging nor supportive, and a student I know often describe it as boring and uninspiring. It fails to foster a social atmosphere or encourage personal growth. Instead, there is a pattern of negligence, particularly from female teachers, who appear indifferent to the students' struggles. As for the Games Design program, while the content might be acceptable for some, the constant micromanagement and enforcement by certain staff members make the experience draining. Being forced to work every few minutes with little understanding of individual needs is not conducive to a positive learning environment. In my opinion, this institution does not operate at the standard of a college; it feels more like a secondary school pretending to be one. Until the staff learns how to genuinely support and develop their studentsโboth academically and emotionallyโI cannot recommend this place. Parents, I urge you to take caution and not take the Steps teachers or higher staff at their word. If they cannot handle students who are tired, struggling, or dealing with personal issues, then this institution is not equipped to support everyone. This is, without a doubt, a low-rated college experience in my eyes, and I advise others to think carefully before enrolling here.

Sutton & District Training provide a very supportive environment for my son. He enjoys the computer course he is on and they also provide a broader curriculum to improve his general skills. The focus is much more on the individual than larger colleges.
