If you're considering a prep school, you'd be mad not to visit Woodcote. The boys are happy and secure, and are supported by a fantastic team. Our son joined Woodcote House at the start of Y3 (Junior 1) and has developed significantly in the 15 or so months since. Role models galore (in staff and pupils), acres of space (with plenty of mud) and a very clear ambition to develop decent young men who work hard and do their best, giving them skills for the future and an understanding of world around them. This really is a very special place.

Woodcote House School is a truly amazing place. A wonderfully traditional prep school managing to foster both a modern and time proven approach providing above all an extremely happy and safe environment in which the boys thrive. From our initial enquiry and to placing our son in the school the communication and support has been incredible. Having relocated from overseas and joining mid year the Staff went the extra mile to ensure that he settled very quickly with his peers, school routine and adhoc boarding. The beautiful grounds offer a perfect sanctuary for the children to enjoy, explore and play a variety of sports. The range of after school activities on offer is more than impressive. The result is one extremely confident, happy and content young man that can’t wait to get to school, meet his friends, join in the fun whilst making excellent progress in the classroom.

Our son has been attending the school since year 3 and we have found the school absolutely fantastic. The teachers are very approachable and the school is run with open frequent communication between the parents and teachers. The staff make a real effort to get to know every child and their families and there is a great familial feeling at the school with a real sense of caring and support for each of the children. Our son began boarding for 2 nights aged 9 following "taster" nights and he loved it and now has a sleep over with his friends and a cooked breakfast twice a week which we can't compete with at home! There is a variety of extra curricular activities available from archery, golf, tennis to name but a few. Academically our son is being challenged to reach his full potential and extend himself which is great to see. Our son loves being at school, with his friends and we see him developing into a well rounded happy individual, what more can you ask for.

I couldn’t rate the school highly enough. My son has benefited enormously since he joined. The care & attention of all the staff is exemplary & very obvious by how well the teachers & headmaster know the boys. The clearest indicator as a parent is how keen my son is to go to school every morning & his new interest in learning & telling me some of the interesting things he has been taught!

I have recently extended my thanks to the staff at Woodcote House School for the amazing effort and dedication collectively input into tutoring our children in these unprecedented times. The tutors' patience is limitless and it is evident that much hard work and planning is going into each virtual lesson with every effort being made to continually ask if the children understand and encouraging questions. All staff are approachable and accessible, managing concerns immediately. The combined efforts of those working at the school provided a compelling reason to write this review. This school offers an amazing learning environment providing a well considered balance between study, sporting and a variety of additional activities and having fun. Most importantly, our son is a happy little boy who enjoys school life.
