   I found Bross Bennett through a friend’s recommendation, unfortunately needing to go the way of the law when the mediation attempt for my impending divorce went South. Let me start by saying that I’m so glad that I did !! (and with the help of hindsight I would suggest that you don’t waste your money on mediation unless you know, FOR SURE, that the other party will really be prepared to play ball!) Vicky Briam was my assigned lawyer, who helped me reach a fair and decent financial settlement for my divorce. After an initial talk where I explained my extremely limited finances, she really listened to me and dealt with my case with efficiency, empathy and sensitivity, doing everything she could to keep the costs as low as possible, including getting an out-of-court settlement by having a round table meeting to reach the resolution. Her letters were incredibly smart, succinct and to the point - and whereas the other parties’ correspondence was waffly, long-winded and seemed to want to drag out the situation, costing time and money, Vicky made every response lean and directive to the essentials. Of course I had to ultimately reach a compromise, but with Vicky’s help we obtained a fair deal, before having to waste probably around £60,000 more if we had gone through the courts. I will forever be grateful for Vicky and her team’s help through this difficult time and I cannot recommend her and her firm enough!

   I went through a very difficult and prolonged divorce (5.5 years) as my ex husband refused to co-operate and in fact delighted in wasting money, hiding assets and really punishing me for leaving him. Originally I went to a supposedly good solicitor in Brighton who cost a great but didn't seem to do much - for several years. Eventually I was recommended to try Bross Bennett and was introduced to Eleanor Hoare. I found her to be absolutely marvellous and no more expensive than my previous solicitor. Eleanor was kind - which is so important when you are struggling with a difficult divorce. She was also practical and diligent. She was at all times professional and unstinting in the time that she spent working for me. I know that she had to work her way around many silly and irrelevant delaying tactics from the other side - who were trying to drive me away through lack of funds. She was also up against some high powered legal advisors. Throughout the years of struggling to conclude my divorce, Eleanor was calm, sensible and knowledgeable. I shall always be immensely grateful to Eleanor and my barrister for getting me through some very dark and difficult times. I could not have chosen a better or more professional solicitor to help me and I commend her both as a person and for the quality of her work. She also helped me to win a very fair settlement.
