   I had gotten a blow dry and cut here a week ago. The atmosphere was nice and the people who worked there were also quite pleasant however I was charged an extra £10 for having thick curly hair which I was not made aware of prior to the appointment. Furthermore, despite my hair being straightened at the end, I found that my hair was uneven after the appointment which is quite disappointing considering the price that I paid.

   This was my first visit to 54A Hair and Beauty Salon, I found them through the "Only Curls" website as a salon that offered both the Only Curls products and "curly" hair cuts. I made an appointment through the salons website (super easy) and traveled to the salon from Cardiff. Yes, it was worth all that effort! Michaela was my stylist, she listened carefully to what I wanted, took her time and I couldn't be happier with the results. Michaela used the Only Curls products and diffused my hair and wow, what a difference. I will definitely be returning to 54A and Michaela for my next cut. Obviously, I highly recommend.

   Soon as I walked into the hairdressers Hannah was ready. Hannah did a fantastic job, Did what I asked. Lovely women she did a great job. 2020 Been back 2022 needed a fast appointment, Which i managed to get on the same day. wash cut treatment blow-dry was very Happy with the outcome. Welcoming friendly and helpful. I travel a good 12 miles because I'm happy with how they do my hair.

   Michelle was quiet, which suits me fine - I'm not too bothered about being chatty at the hairdresser's. She initially seemed a deer in the headlights when I gave her free creative roam on my hair as I had never had balyage before, but she came up with some good ideas which worked lovely. She really struggled with working on curly hair, she was using a fine comb and struggling to detangle - it would help if the salon used tangle teasers like some other salons, they are much more effective. She also struggled to blow-dry curly hair straight, my hair goes dead straight when blow dried with the higher temperature, smaller round brush, starting closer to the roots and working with slightly smaller sections always keeping the direction of airflow down the hair shaft. The method Michelle was using would only really work on straight hair which is why it ended up frizzy, but she sorted it out by putting lovely curls in using the ghd curler. I must say I was impressed by the level of effort and perseverance that Michelle put into doing my hair and the end results did speak for themselves, looked great! Just would have been easier for her and less damaging to my hair if she'd applied some curly hair techniques.

   I arrived early for my appointment and was greeted very pleasantly by the staff. Hannah my stylist was ready for me and took time to discuss my colours and style. I left most of decisions on colours and cut to Hannah and was very impressed at the finished result. Hannah was a very pleasant girl and we talked a lot, I will certainly return to the saloon and have Hannah do my hair again, thank you.
