Hunt & Hunt, especially Sarah Mirza, is one of the worst solicitors I have dealt with in years of property transactions I've been involved. She was acting for the other party in what should have been a straightforward transaction, yet it dragged on for seven months with no sign of completion. Sarah consistently failed to deal with inquiries on time, had to be chased repeatedly, and misled us regarding the transaction timeline. Her lack of urgency and inefficiency made the process unnecessarily stressful and frustrating. Sarah also claimed inquiries were completed in January but was circling back in March with additional inquiries. I won’t go into full detail here, but I am more than happy to provide evidence to Hunt & Hunt if necessary. The buyer was also part of the issue, showing a clear lack of competence and understanding, which only added to the delays and should not be allowed to even view properties on the open-market. If you want a smooth and timely transaction, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere and if you see Hunt & Hunt on the other side of the transaction ask the vendor to change solicitors as you'll probably end up with a transaction that will never exchange. I wasted 7 months dealing Hunt & Hunt. I'll also be lodging a complaint with the SRA. To add to this further, Sarah made a comment of along the lines of "a seasoned investor should be able to deal with a empty property" Sarah, to be honest we were told 3-4 months, not 7 months as far as me I'd could keep it empty for 5 years and be fine. I'm aware the timescales not in your control but you could of dealt with this whole transaction a bit more efficiently.
Recently used the services of Sarah Mirza, to deal with the sale of a property, for which I held POA. I cannot thank Sarah enough, very easy to deal with, completely on the ball, always available to speak to on the phone, and super fast response to emails. Exactly what you need at a stressful time. I would highly recommend Sarah, and would definitely call her again should I need any conveyancing. Excellent service.
Worst company to deal with. They charged me unreasonable cost to complete an LPE1 form and is still not ready after 3 weeks. Very unprofessional and rude over the phone. I will let all my friends know to avoid this company.
Appalling. I asked them to do something on my behalf every six months and every six months they were too lazy to read the file properly. I decided to deal with my own case and refused to pay their last bill, inviting them to sue me. They are solicitors FFS, they are supposed to know about procedures and law, it was all down in B&W they hadn't done what they were asked, all they had to do was apologise. But no, I got a snooty reply that they wouldn't sue me but would refuse to accept any further instructions. So I then complained about them to their own professional body on three points - and two points were upheld. They then appealed ... presumably on the basis that they are important, posh people and I'm an oik so they must be right and I'm wrong ... but the appeal body upheld the decision and indeed stated that all my three points should have been upheld! Dreadful company. I have all the paperwork that can prove the above and am posting under my real name. If I'm lying, c'mon, sue me H&H!
POOR SERVICE. Told me I didnt need to turn up at court and the solicitor would go any way as it was just a formality. THEY LOST ME THE CASE. NEVER USE THEM EVER AGAIN
Excellent firm who dealt with my conveyancing as a first time buyer. Very friendly and professional, explained everything in great detail to me. Communication was was spot on I could not fault this company for the hard work they put in for me.
Untrustworthy. Rude RIP off merchants. Charged me for 220 plus VAT for an hour travel time from Romford to the court in Romford. Charged me for a meeting that did not take place!! When queried I got told by Derek Hunt he’s made a mistake in the billing and I should have got charged for extra email time. Patronised me and said he was surprised given my profession I couldn’t work it out!!! Avoid!! It’ll save you a lot of hassle
