I was greeted nicely, listening to and treated with respect. Stylist engaged me on what she would be doing and what would be good going forward. The discussion on what was possible was realistic and respectful and the outcome was a good experience with a smart and tidy result. I was really pleased.

I booked my appointment at 1240, and arrived on time. It was busy but there was no proper greeting from the receptionist or the stylist herself. I was not introduced to the stylist and left for 10mins no apologies. I told the receptionist that I have to go on time. By the end, I had to leave due to other commitments and I couldn't even find the receptionist. The stylist said that she might be able to cut and not blowdry - but my appointment was supposed to be finished at 1:30pm! If you are fully booked and likely to delay, out of curtesy, you should inform customers or at least acknowledge me while I am waiting. This is not the standard I expect at Toni & Guy. I have been having haircut with Toni & Guy in other cities for many years and was hoping to continue this in Bristol. This is very disappointing! Response: Thanks to your acknowledge to my review. As I said, I have always opted in T&G wherever I lived, Cardiff and Brighton, for years. The service I received was consistent - warm greeting from both receptionist and stylist upon arrival, even if the stylist was busy they always made effort to say a quick hi and note the potential wait time. It is understandable hair apt runs over time, but proactive and warm communication is expected. I received my apt cancellation auto email, and your standard reply here, this is not the way to rebuild confidence.

I had a haircut with Jade, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. She cut off much more than I asked for and told me she couldn’t layer my hair because it was too short — even though my main reason for the visit was to remove volume. The result actually made my hair look fuller instead of lighter. I also found her approach uncomfortable. She forced conversation and didn’t seem to pick up on cues when I wasn’t interested in chatting. When I asked about a product, she mentioned one costing £45, and even though I said I wouldn’t be purchasing it, she added it to my bill — which felt like a pushy sales tactic. A few days later, I returned for a corrective service, and the owner (who was super nice) fixed the haircut himself. He was very professional and understanding, and he explained that perhaps Jade didn’t want to take risks with a new client. I appreciated his help and attitude, but overall, my experience with Jade was poor. I won’t be booking with her again and wouldn’t recommend her.

I have been coming here for years and always been happy but the last appointment was the worst cut I have ever had and probably the worst experience. The highlights I had were beautiful as always and I am very happy with the colour. However the cut was not what I asked for and I don’t feel that the stylist listened to me and assumed what I wanted. I was also unable to see it properly at the end as he had curled the front area whilst blowing drying using a curling brush. They have offered to rectify it but this is costing me over £40 babysitting fees, parking etc. I told him I liked the wolf cut and when I got out the photos to show him of the previous cut I had ( pictures 3-4) and others from the internet I liked, which I showed the previous stylist, who was amazing, he dismissed them saying “yeah, yeah I know” and didn’t look at them. I can’t remember him even going over the fringe when it was dry. I also asked for the finish to be wavy, messy and he curled it. Photos 1-2 are what it currently looks like, which is not what I asked for. My experience was also not the greatest. I was offered 3 drinks. The first was 15 minutes late, the 2nd didn’t come and the 3rd was wrong. During the wash I am normally taken into the back of the salon and asked if I would like to have my feet up and offered a blanket but I was at the front because it was busy and the lady washing my hair at the end kept pushing down on the sink so it kept getting incredibly uncomfortable. I don’t feel that I was listened to at the time and feel very upset with the current cut I have.

I had the best experience at Toni and Guy today, I went in for a full head of highlights with Steph who was extremely attentive and understood exactly what I wanted. She was so friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed both the process and the outcome, my hair looked incredible and exactly like the reference photos! :):)

Amazing people. Thank you, James, not only for a top-notch service and my new classy cut, but for an immense support which is crucial for me as a Ukrainian at these times. Will come back, Merry Christmas!

I had the worst haircut from this salon. The lady did a horrendous job. The highlights that was done was so rushed and not even the colour I wanted. The service was not great the receptionist could not even pronounce my name properly at all when I corrected her she still said my name wrong. I don't recommend this salon go elsewhere and save your money as you will regret it. I will never spend my hard earned money in this place again.

James at Toni and Guy Bristol completely understands my hair and we work together to get the best my hair can be. Over the years I've had it very short, very straightened, very natural and it's now collar bone length - it's great to look back at all the different styles and looks I've had. James has always said that he liked long hair for me and I ignored his advice for quite some years, and James cut my hair how I wanted, always expertly and working with the limitations and strengths of my thick, slightly wavy, slightly coarse hair. Now, having grown it I realise he's right. The salon is always calm and relaxing, it's a treat to go there and to see everyone else having their hair cut or coloured. I've enjoyed seeing all the different ways that people have their hair and believe that the stylists manage to tune into what's good for the client. Throughout the pandemic I've felt as safe as possible in the salon. I have always been treated with the utmost respect and am warmly welcomed every time. I wholeheartedly recommend Toni and Guy Bristol.
