   We are really impressed all round with David and the team. Interesting Timbers supplied us with oak to clad our outbuilding and cut to measure lengths to build our pergola. In addition to this, they also worked with us to design and build a green oak frame to create an opening for our garden room. Delivery was always on time and the team were happy to help with unloading on site. Would happily recommend. We are really pleased with the finished result and have had a lot of compliments!    Interesting Timbers supplied me with some rustic oak kitchen worktops and they are absolutely stunning! David was really helpful, helping me to figure out the correct sizing and they were delivered to my door. They are such beautiful bits of wood, I ordered another for the utility.    Fantastic find. I had two alcoves that were wasted space and I could find nothing to fit them until I found their website. They are busy, so expect a wait, but that means they must be doing something right! I chatted with Dave Simmonds who was technically top notch and helped me choose the wood I wanted, explaining the pros and cons. He even sent me photos of the panel he was going to cut from to ensure it would be ok. He informed me that my waney wood pieces would be challenging my size, but he could join smaller pieces, which hardly showed unless you knew. He also cut the wood to within 1-2 mm and was happy to cut it wonky to fit my alcove, but fortunately it was square enough. . This was my second dealings with them for a similar set up that was on the right hand side of the fireplace. First time, delivery timing was a bit restrictive, but has improved no end now they are using a new carrier with time slots etc. For the wood I was charged ~£1000 for each set of shelves and I thought that was reasonable, given the quality, service and getting what I wanted I chose oak - buyer beware that its tougher than the general wood from B&Q, but great to work with - don't even think about using an electric plane or non-wood specific drills! They also accurately cut the doors and sides for me to my chosen dimensions. All I had to do was a bit of trimming with a circular saw, drilling and varnish to bring out the gorgeous colour. I made the shelves float on the walls, by making the shelves sit on screws, hidden by routing the sides, even made the top slide in and out on the screws to access the wires hidden behind the false back.

   It’s been a pleasure dealing with interesting timbers. They have been easy to communicate with and have done everything they said they would. David helped me out with some oak boards for a dining table, I was given lots of different options in terms of character, thickness etc.. David did also offer finished table tops which were beautiful but out of my budget this time around. I would recommend anyone to use them.

   David and the team were great at giving me advice on what kind of timber I needed for my project and then had the patience to bear with me as I rejected a series of different pieces until he found the perfect one for me. The finished product (a pair of floating shelves under our TV unit) is absolutely beautiful and forms the centerpiece in my lounge now.

   We needed a large 3m oak top for our new bar that we had constructed during the Pandemic. We did a lot of research and Interesting Timbers stood out because of the pieces they offered and the price was very reasonable. We gave them the dimensions that we needed and were given a lead time of approximately 3 weeks (this turned out to be spot on!). When it came time for our bar top to be produced, we were sent a picture of 5 pieces and based on the dimensions that we had given, David suggested one that he thought was the most suitable. We took his advice. As the wood was being completed, David contacted us to say that there were a couple of areas that needed filling but he was happier with putting another piece in to make up the width that we needed. We thought that this would incur more cost but we agreed with him and again, took his advice. When the courier was booked, we were informed that it could take up to 7 working days and that someone needed to be there to accept delivery. The bar top arrived THE NEXT DAY! When it came, it was clear why we had to be in, it was a very well packed and large piece that had to be brought into our garage with a pallet truck - it could not have been left anywhere. When we unwrapped the delivery, we were blown away with how nice the bar top was. It was sanded to perfection and was stunning! We had opted to lacquer the bar top ourselves and with David’s guidance had picked Osmo products to complete the finish. In addition to received a work of art, we were also extremely impressed that David had completed the work at the price originally quoted and although we had opted for an extra piece, he did not charge us any more which we thought was fantastic! He also sent us a matching shelf that we had requested at a very reasonable price! We had looked at a lot of suppliers, local and nationwide and we were extremely happy that we picked Interesting Timbers - we got EXACTLY what we envisaged and we were kept well informed throughout the entire process. We would highly recommend Interesting Timbers!!!
