   I first came across Cavetta Consulting and met Alan when he was presenting at an ASSC conference.I was unaware until then about the ability to claim capital allowances for our holiday let properties. Alan is brilliant to deal with, he patiently outlined what was involved, efficiently undertook the surveys on both properties, prepared detailed reports for our accountants and ultimately we were able to claim over £60k against future tax bills.    I was introduced to Alan’s company Cavetta Consulting through a property consultancy that did not deal with holiday lets. It was immediately clear that although they were a relatively new company at that time, they had a great deal of experience and were happy to answer any questions that I had. I attended the survey of the first property with Alan, and I was taken aback at the level of detail that they went to, even to the point of counting signs. doorbells and even door closers. In addition, I was also impressed that they used an app to gather their quantities on site, something that I had not heard of before. I have tried to engage advisors in the past, but I have always been told that it was a complicated process or not a viable option. So about two years ago, I appointed a Glasgow based capital allowances firm, Ćavetta Consulting, to review our portfolio again. I was pleased to receive an in-depth explanation of the capital allowances situation, and they took the time to answer any questions that my accountant or I had. Alan and his team made the process extremely simple and clearly explained what I had to do and what was required. My accountant was impressed by the standard of the report, and it was clear that a lot of attention has been given to making this document clear and understandable. The team at Ćavetta are always very responsive to any questions, and nothing is too much trouble.
