This was an excellent experience and I would highly recommend it. Ailsa is a very patient and knowledgeable tutor who carefully gave help and encouragement to each one of us. Having the opportunity to work in a fantastic workshop with high quality equipment was great. Thank you so much for the workshop. I wear my ring with pride. Thank you Ailsa.

What is it that makes CSSC and CSSJ so special? Is it the fantastic range of classes - partly. Is it the gorgeous items they have for sale - partly. Is it the friendliness and approachability of all the staff- partly. So what is it that makes it so special for me, something I've experienced in every single craft and class I've been to, and yes, that's a lot!. You get people who are brilliant and inspirational. All the tutors I've met so far are all that and for me, something way more - they're all able to break complicated new processes down to levels each individual can grasp at everyone's own pace. There is no such thing as a "stupid question" and there is so much gentle kindness and humour in guiding us. It is a real talent to facilitate people's learning this way and they all have it.

I've been attending this jewellery class for several years, and it continues to be an incredible experience. The instructors are not only highly skilled but also patient and encouraging, always ready to share their expertise and help refine our techniques. The class atmosphere is warm and supportive, making it a joy to create alongside fellow enthusiasts. Over the years, I’ve seen my skills grow tremendously, all thanks to the hands-on learning and personalised guidance provided. This class has become a cherished part of my week, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in jewellery making.

Highly recommend the weekend jewellery making workshop as an intro into jewellery making. The school is well equipped and teachers are excellent. I warn you it is addictive though and there is a high chance that you will get the bug and find yourself signing up for the weekly evening classes to extend your skills. Once again I can highly recommended the classes.

A brilliant resource for jewellers! I take advantage of open bench rentals on Fridays so that I can use all the amazing equipment that I couldn’t afford to own. Have taken several intermediate classes too - top notch teaching in an unbeatable facility.

A crafters paradise! Very well thought out, simple and organised space to either teach or learn in. The town of Dunblane is also pretty amazing, what are you waiting for?!

I can't speak more highly of CSSJ. It's my happy place, I've learnt loads and had great fun doing so. The tutors are all fantastic jewellers in their own right as well as excellent teachers. The studio is full of brilliant resources and each class and workshop is a joy to be part of. It's a world of creativity where everyone is made to feel welcome and becomes part of the place very quickly, whatever your ability and experience.

Today I attended a one-day taster course at CSSJ and was taught by Lois Wiseman. She was an incredibly knowledgeable and skilled teacher and I enjoyed every second of the course. It was an intensive day where I was learning skills every minute of the course. I cannot recommend it enough. The set up was great and Lois was fantastic. Well worth it.

I love teaching at CSSJ! It is such a fantastic workshop with such friendly staff and students. I highly recommend booking yourself on to one of the courses if you have ever fancied trying your hand at jewellery making or you just love learning something new!
