Roman stuff again, I didn't know of this place until I stopped at lambhill stables café. Was cycling along the canal. Got talking to a customer and I mentioned the antonine wall. Was immediately told there was a distance stone and Roman head monument round the back of the stables. I love Roman stuff in Scotland and been to numerous sites on the wall. This was news to me . Disappointed that the Roman head was vandalized. But the replica distance slab was in good condition. Well done to lambhill for making the effort to provide this site. There is a lot of Roman history around here.

An ok walk. Paths not that clear and easy to wander off into the marsh. Would really benefit from more local artist sculptures like the big head sculpture that they have. Lambshill cafe is right next to the pathway into the marah.

Possil Marsh Possil Marsh has a shallow freshwater loch surrounded by marsh, swamp and fen, with areas of willow scrub and grassland. The fen and swamp areas support locally rare plants and the reserve is also an important staging post during the spring and autumn migration for warblers and waterfowl. Why visit? Highlights include: Fantastic views of wildfowl Explosions of colour from wildflowers User-friendly paths across the reserve Best time to visit? May to Jul for breeding birds May to Aug for wildflowers Oct to Mar for wildfowl Visit for: birdwatching woodlands wildflowers scenery mammals wetland pond Other information Breeding birds on the reserve include reed buntings, moorhens and the secretive water rail. There is a path, accessed from the Forth & Clyde towpath, around the perimeter of the reserve.

Such a lovely scenery. During summer months, everything is so green and nature is blooming everywhere around. A great place for a long walk in nature or a cycle, great place for a picnic too! Cute place for family time or even a date. Personally, I love to cycle here with my boyfriend.

Great natural area in the city. Great for waking round and getting away from thing for a while to enjoy wildlife and views. Does get really water logged on the path half way round and not passable without wellies. In dry periods it is okay but a bit muddy...that will be the marsh I guess! Would be nice to have a better pathway built that didn't flood.

Nice walk round from the stables, marsh was abit bleak being a rainy January but still nice to get out during lockdown!

Visited back in October before the lockdown, but here wasn't much to see. After a week of rain, much of the walking path was muddy. If only the paths were better maintained, it would've be a great place for walking. The walking path along the river is well paved and on a sunny day, the river views do look good.
