Great area for dog walking with awesome scenery. The Erskine Bridge towers high over the western limit of the town. The bridge is the furthest west crossing point on the river and it soon expands to become the Firth of Clyde estuary. Boden Boo There is a woodland area beneath the Erskine bridge with about 2 miles (3 km) of informal trails, picnic areas and views of the River Clyde. The area is ideal for walking and cycling. The Erskine Beach is also situated here. Forestry and Land Scotland is responsible for the area. Erskine House

Only suitable for dog walkers, took my family while on holiday in the area as it has good reviews here. Its an embarrassment to say this is a beach, please don't waste your time like we did, feels more like a local dossers spot with litter, drinks bottles and dog shit everywhere.

If youβre looking for a peaceful escape not too far from the hustle and bustle of Glasgow, Risking Beach is a hidden gem worth discovering. Tucked away along the coast, this beach offers a beautiful, quiet stretch of sand and pebbles with stunning views over the water β perfect for a reflective walk or a relaxed afternoon with a book. The beach is relatively unspoiled, giving it a more natural and rugged charm compared to more commercialised spots. Itβs not overly crowded, even on a sunny day, which makes it ideal if youβre looking to avoid busy tourist spots. Thereβs limited parking and not many facilities nearby, so itβs best to come prepared β pack some snacks, water, and perhaps a blanket if you plan to stay a while. Itβs also a great place for photography, especially during sunset when the light hits the waves just right. Overall, Risking Beach is a lovely little coastal retreat, perfect for those who enjoy nature, quiet, and scenic views. Highly recommend for a weekend mini-adventure or a peaceful evening

Took my 3 grandsons to Erskine beach last Saturday as it was a sunny March afternoon .the beach was quite busy and we had a picnic and the kids paddling at the waters edge .A few tankers and boats by passed in the few hours we were there. But the 3rd oil tankard cruise by and it's waves from it flooded the full beach .Our picnic was ruined and the kids socks and trainers were swifted away .I was sitting on our mat and was fully drenched from waist down .Mobile phone along with picnic under at least s foot of water. So bad that someone could have drowned. So very concerned as this can't be the first time it has happened.Has anyone came across this at Erskine beach .Green tankard that caused the problem, the others were fine

The views from the bridge were reasonably good, but nothing particularly spectacular. If nothing else itβs a good way to get from point A to point B. The only bridge across the water for quite a few miles on either direction. The beach underneath looks good though, but I canβt speak from experience.

Possibly the nearest beach from Glasgow city centre. Always come back in hot summer day.
