    It’s hard to express in words how let down I feel by home protect. They sold me a policy for my mums house for building and contents insurance, but when a devastating fire destroyed the property 6 months ago, ( started at the neighbours ie no fault) they and Axa who are the insurance company behind them, has not paid a penny, they have lied, been incompetent, dragged their feet, and obfuscated in order to delay admitting liability for 5 months, and then reducing the amount liable due to a completely irrelevant mistake I made on taking out the policy. They haven’t paid a penny towards my 77 year old mother’s alternative accommodation expenses, in 6 months. There is untold secondary damage being done to the already fire damaged property, as they haven’t initiated any work to stabilise the building or protect it from the weather, so the rain pours through the upper floors and down into the ground floor, soaking the of old wooden floors, mould and damp is rife. It’s criminal what their lack of action has caused, but despite our complaints to Axa, nothing has happened. To add insult to injury I have had to take out another policy with them when the last one expired as no one else will insure you with an outstanding claim. My advice is DO NOT use this company, they will not pay you and they will make your life a living hell trying to get even a penny of that which you are owed.see photo of extreme fire damaged house below.

    I needed some clarity, concerning the recent policy that I took out, and Danielle from Customer Services was excellent, knowledgeable, helpful, understanding. The Policy was cancelled and I was passed over to Sales to take out a new Policy, with the correct executor details. Again the service received was excellent, thorough, clear and a great price as well. I would certainly recommend HomeProtect's Customer service and price, especially for Unoccupied or Probate Home insurance. Thank you again.

    Very straightforward process to obtain the cover for my property. The customer representative was very helpful over the phone and gave clear and unambiguous details about the cover I needed.     Quite easy to get house insurance quote and accept via online search after previous insurer's renewal had gone up considerably as we are supposedly in flood risk area. We are near small river but at much higher level and never seen more than small overflows in 14 years. Saved a fair bit by switching. Everything via email attachments, but might have been nice to get some basic confirmation in the post, if only to save on printing.

    I have today spent over an hour on the phone with these guys going through my non-standard home insurance quote. I can't tell you what they're like when making a claim, but I can tell you that their customer service is excellent on the quotes-end! Spoke to two advisers who seemed intelligent and were very helpful. They were Najid and Harry. A note to any internal staff reading this - I don't know if I just got lucky with these two guys, or if they're representative of the customer support staff you have in general. If it's the former, promote them quickly or they'll leave for a better job!

    Just renewed with Home Protect. I did speak to customer service as I had to just change a few things on my policy, which obviously effected the quote. But was allowed time to think & adjust then renewed online with Home Protect for a fair price. Good communication & easy website to use. Thank you

    We have just renewed our home insurance. It was smooth. The renewal quote was competitive- i checked. My only gripe would be that the renewal quote confirmed that it would auto renew unless we contacted to stop the renewal Once it renewed automatically we received no email to confirm and the first email i receive weeks later confirming that i have renewed also asking me to review my experience.

    Got my renewal notice and the price had dropped considerably - always a pleasant surprise. I needed to contact them on some small detail and got held in a queue for some time but got the option for them to call me back, which I took: they said I wouldn't lose my place in the queue, but it was many hours later that they did finally call - but they did call and were able to resolve my query, so no complaints. They were one of the few places offering me a quote at all due to my house's proximity to water. Overall - a good experience.
