   I have used SalonGold the past 5 years with no issues and no claims, and was going to write a mid review over the fact that they use Close Brothers to handle their accounts (Close Brothers are notoriously greedy and will slap you with a late fee if you miss your payment by one day, with no payment reminders), and that the SalonGold system is outdated and you cant change your account details without calling them, which then incurs an admin fee. However after reading the bad reviews on here I'm afraid that I might be left hanging in case I will have to make a claim. Considering changing insurance providers.

   I have been trying to get insurance on my salon with these jokers for the past two weeks. I was speaking with a girl called Ashley who has made it so difficult to obtain a straight forward insurance with them that l went back to the sunbed firm l bought the sunbeds from for an insurance recommendation, thankfully they sent me to another insurance company who got me insured in a day for HALF the premium these jokers where trying to charge!! Also after reading the poor reviews here.... l think l was lucky to escape!!!

   I’ve been a customer of Salon Gold for over 10 years but I’ll never use them again. Happy enough to take your premium but when salon owners needed them most during the pandemic they refused to take our calls and left us in the dark. When we finally got correspondence we were all told we had no claim. Over 3 years later and a big fight the courts ruled we should have been paid out as our policies should have covered us. All these years, stress and expense to receive what should have rightfully been ours in the first place. Even when we won our case they’ve dragged their feet and tried to screw us over. If you want a company that will try every trick in the book not to pay out go ahead, if not I’d stay well clear!

   Useless...their so called legal just looks for a way to get the insurer out of being liable. In this case we have been told we are not covered for a bogus claim because we did not do a direct skin test for bleach onto the scalp...we did a strand test 48 hours prior which was clear..on the day there was an instant reaction to the colour...we washed it off....then.was down the base of the back..half an inch reacted which was cut off anyway...we refused to do the colour service which client moaned about...3 weeks later injury lawyer 4 u claim turned up....because it says on the packet of bleach powder to do skin test we are not covered..yet anyone knows you cant test bleach on skin. Avoid salon gold like the plague. Their insurers Hiscox will.not support you. We could lose our business as a result.
