   If I could give zero stars I would. I hardly leave reviews but I couldn't let this one slide. I was about to complete on a property so went on Unbiased (never again) and enquired about BTL mortgages. I was connected with a man called Vitalis Simovicius. He was registered on Unbiased as Lead finance but then responded to my enquiry as Access Finance. He gave me a missed call at about 8pm that night and I returned the call. First thing he said when I told him the value of the property I was buying was “wow that’s a lot of money!! Wow wow wow". I responded "is it?.. is this beyond the typical values you deal with?” Then he said he even just concluded a deal on a property of similar value so it was not a big deal. I found his reaction quite strange but I kept talking to him. Next thing he asked me was "do you have proof of source of deposit". I said yes the deposit is already with the developer through my solicitors and it was saved via my income over the years. He kept asking questions in a strange way like he was suspicious of me. I found it very strange especially when he was at that time the fifth broker I had spoke to that day. He later told me that the reason he is asking is because of anti money laundering laws and tried to explain to me what they were. I told him I know all about AML and I am very exposed to it because of my line of work. He then proceeded to ask me about other things and asked me to send him so many documents about my life basically which I did. (Never again)!! Only for him to come back with a silly message the next day saying his Compliance team would not let him proceed as there were discrepancies. I was shocked!. I called him and asked him what the discrepancies were and he couldn’t answer. He said no lender would touch me and basically made me feel like I was a fraud. I was quite surprised, discouraged and afraid at the same time. I asked him "how can that be?". He said if he touches me he will lose his license. I was so shocked. I asked him if he could not seek clarity from me on anything that was unclear so I could provide explanation and proof etc asking hi if it was not the normal procedure. I told him He was the first to tell me what he just told me. He said sorry he cannot help. He told me to come meet him where he was that evening so he can tell me what I did wrong as he would have done it a different way. I was so so so shocked. I have worked too hard in life and kept on a straight line to be indirectly accused of what he was insinuating so I didn't go and meet him. Now I can confirm I am the proud owner of my flat having secured a mortgage through another broker. The plain truth is this "Unbiased" broker could not do the job, and the apartment price was beyond his capacity. He seems to lack any exposure or understanding and instead of just saying so, proceeded to attack my integrity with no basis. I am a woman with an accent. I don’t trust these reviews on him so good luck to anyone closing on a high value property who comes across them as a first time buyer. Be ready to have a solid heart otherwise your spirit would be completely smashed /broken!
