   I had a dreadful experience at my massage just now. Terrible atmosphere, no relaxing music, bright lighting, no towels or blankets (provided towels for privacy and warmth when I asked). Felt uncomfortable due to lack of door on the treatment room so noise was far from relaxing. Would not recommend

   I had physio here a few months ago after lengthy knee problems which weren’t improving. Lyfe were really organised when setting me up and Izzy was great, knowledgable and professional. She created what felt like a personalised recovery plan with exercises and stretches id not seen before and we both noticed more improvement in those weeks than in the months beforehand. Izzy was quick to answer my questions midweek and helpful during appointments, and added some bonus exercises for strengthening the area around my knee. It feels really good now and I’m continuing the exercises and already back into sport as I hoped I would be, more or less back to before, so I would definitely use them again.

   I visited the Downend clinic after a motor accident I had in July this year with excruciating dorsal and cervical pains. I had an excellent experience with Izzy the Physiotherapist who was not only supportive and helpful but very meticulous with all my six sessions and the home exercises she advised me to do in between sessions . My pain has subsided enormously and I’m able to train back again in the gym. Even my Nick and others would like to attend this clinic very soon as he could not believe how well I’ve got. Once again thank you so very much and also to the reception staff who always arranged a mutually-‘convenient appointment due to my work schedule which involves a lot of travelling.

   My shoulder treatment was excellent, resolving the issue quickly in a few sessions. However, the aggressive pursuit of an outstanding excess payment severely soured my experience. Receiving texts and emails for payment late at night and early the next morning (the first request for payment at 8 PM, followed by an email and then a call us now message at 8:45 AM the next day) felt like an urgent, inconsiderate demand for money, rather than a patient-focused approach. This overshadows the positive clinical outcome. I won't be returning for further treatment and have decided against the membership I was considering

   I have previously had little success or faith in chiropractors and physios after seeing little results, however The Medical at Downend have truly changed my view. I initially saw Catherine who sorted out neck pains that I've had for over 10 years! Now, I've been seeing Jack and Annette regarding a serious shoulder injury, and they help so much. It's expensive, but buying a bulk pack of appointments makes it far better value for money, and honestly I don't grudge paying as it helps so so much with my pain management and recovery. I honestly can't recommend them highly enough, and I always get a lovely chat with Val whilst waiting!

   I had physio organised through bupa. The treatment was good but the problem was bupa agreed to five sessions and on my 5th I told the physiotherapist it was my last appointment but was told there was one more. I thought I had miscounted as she seemed positive. So as it turns out I was right she was wrong. I’ve been charged with no discussion even though I complained, £35 for an unauthorised appointment. I feel roped off with no redress. I’ve paid it because of daily reminders by text and follow up email. If anyone had actually talked to me and at least listened I would have paid anyway as I want to draw a line under it but not good business and a story I will recant at any opportunity. I don’t like being ripped off

   To date, and the two doctors I have dealt with, they have been exceptional. Their level of detail to understanding of the situation and treatment required to try and assist you in the right direction of recovery is great. The receptionist/s also are really good, they call you up to inform you of any changes, reminder of appointments. Highly recommended.

   Have been coming here for a few months now for some knee issues and have been seeing Annette. She has always been very accommodating and listens to the problems and seeks to assist in resolving. Happy to say my knee has improved massively and she has recommended the areas I need to keep working on for continuous improvement. Highly recommend!

   Phoned The Medical as my husband had a back problem. He was given an immediate appointment with Luis, one of the Chiropractors. My husband found him to be extremely friendly and professional, also very knowledgeable about the treatment required for the problem. After several sessions (far fewer than previous other places) the problem was resolved. My husband was very impressed with Luis and indeed the friendly and professional attitude of all the staff at The Medical and would not hesitate to recommend,
