The use of ANIMA is confusing and frustrating. Used to be able to add a request at 6.00 am. Then it was 7.00am now it’s changed to 8.00am, which is fine if you don’t work as you can sit in private and take to 30 plus minutes to work out how you get into the requests, the go through all your personal information, not so good when you are working in a busy environment and don’t get a chance. Can’t call to book an appointment, Can’t get on line to book an appointment. No wonder people just go to A&E at least you get seen there eventually.

My family and I have always had great experiences with this practice. Yes, they face the same challenges as every GP practice in the NHS and you sometimes have to wait a little bit for an appointment, but generally they triage issues appropriately. The doctors and nurses I have seen there are always fantastic (particularly Dr Khan, Dr Robertson, Dr Wood and Sr Chamberlain) and the receptionists are always friendly and helpful. The online system works well for requests and means shorter waits on the phone when you do need to speak to someone.

I've always received great service at this practice over the last 30 years, especially the last 5 or so years with developing medical problems. The online self referal service usually always gives a personal response within a few hours. Absolutely don't understand the poor reviews here.

After months of back and forth with a doctor multiple different medications and losing hope that my problem would never be fixed I was assigned Dr Beaumont. Dr Beaumont was brilliant she listened to me and prescribed me medication that worked! She also came up with a plan going forward if it didn’t work. I am so grateful for her she has restored my faith in doctors… everyone needs a Dr Beaumont!

One of the better GPs I’ve been registered with. The online system is great as it means I don’t have to call at 8am and wait in a queue with jarring music. Every time I’ve used their system, they’ve always been super quick to get back to me e.g., they identified that I had early signs of a UTI because they listened to my concerns and they had that treated the same day ; usually this would take days! The staff are all very lovely, knowledgable, and have made me feel comfortable in every visit.

Well, not much to say really except that COVID is the excuse used here! Yes, of course things were turned upside down due to lock downs etc but that’s done now isn’t it…where are all the Doctors! According to their website you will see a list of twelve doctors!!! But why are they so rarely seen!! If patients are made to use ‘Ask my GP’ they turn to A&E because most people, especially older people are ill and need to speak with or see someone! Watching the news today we seen how much stress A&E are under…is it any wonder,! If there are twelve Drs at Stoke Gifford and Conygre rd where are they and what are they doing!! Please, help your patients be attended to by a doctor face to face and help ease the A&Es desperate situation and put it right….if the staff and medics don’t like the system then get it changed…please help now.

Had a lovely lady on reception who helped me with relocating details, she was very thorough and actually talked me through the process. I appreciate since the pandemic things have been very different for both doctors and receptionist, but so far, they are better than the receptionist at my current doctors by far. Hopefully going forward it will be a smooth transition.

Requested a prescription as URGENT due to running out early due to surgery issuing incorrect dosage previously. Surgery not responding as urgent and when I call 24 hours later to chase up and advising why so urgent- relating to mental health, being advised by the receptionist i need to allow more time and manage better, even though explained URGENT the reasons and due to error from GP previously. Asking for a call from GP- response will raise a my GP. Knowing I have already done that and no URGENT response: dealing with receptionist who are dealing with patients where receptionists are like robots- computer says NO! It’s a ridiculous system, all I need is a repeat prescription, where a GP presses a button, I have asked receptionist to get off there seat walk to GP room and ask them as urgent to please send over prescription and specified reasons why, response computer says NO. Might as well call and say I’m about to jump off the suspension bridge unless I speak to a doctor or get my medication and I would still get the same response. Sorry computer says NO!!!!

I understand the NHS is overworked but the GPS are now pointless. -past month I have been very ill with different server illnesses. first time I was diagnosed wrong and giving wrong medication so I just went to A&E and had to have an emergency operation after the lack of care from this GP -now this week I am in agony pain with an infection and they told me "it isn't the GPs problem" again it has given no option but to go to A&E. I will also add when I go to A&E and tell them about my GP experience hear they are appalled. -mental health issues I have been told "is it really that bad" which is a vile comment I could complain for hours about this surgery about their unhelpful ness and rudeness but at the end of the day what is the point in the GP if its not doing its job
