I was an NHS patient referred in from South Wales. I am so lucky as the service I received was faultness from start to the end. The clinics are so well organised and efficient. The staff are very friendly to all patients. I had my right eye cataract been done on 27Oct. and had remarkable result. Thanks to all the staff for their professional experience.
On October 17, 2025, I commenced my experience with Newmedica with my pre-operative assessment. Arriving an hour early due to favorable traffic conditions, I was seen for the initial segment of the three-part pre-operative process within 30 minutes. This encompassed a comprehensive eye examination, including visual acuity testing and scans utilizing two specialized machines. The second assessment followed shortly thereafter, involving a review of my medical history, including allergies and current medications, along with an eye pressure check. I then consulted with William, the consultant, within 5 to 10 minutes of completing the previous assessment. William provided exceptional service, alleviating my concerns following an initial assessment at an NHS hospital in Wales, where I had anticipated a less urgent diagnosis. He conducted a thorough evaluation of my cataracts and confirmed the need for surgery on both eyes. Furthermore, he diagnosed me with Fuchs Endothelial Corneal Dystrophy, providing a clear explanation that addressed my initial anxiety regarding this additional eye condition. He successfully addressed my concerns regarding the upcoming surgery and the potential impact of my hypermobility, and I received scheduled dates for both operations, spaced 11 days apart. 5/11/25 Operation on my right eye. I was very nervous but overall had a positive experience. The staff were lovely and talked me through every aspect. The first part was surgery prep so I eye drops put in every 5 minutes prior to the surgeon coming in and seeing me and drawing a very fetching black arrow above my eye. I was then walked into theatre and the nurse monitoring me talked me through it all from what I may feel or see to what stage in the procedure we were at. She also asked me for a music preference for the theatre and kept soothing my nerves my saying I was doing well and reminding me to breath. After the new lens was put in I was cleaned up and had a plastic protective patch put over my eye before being sat up slowly and taken to recovery. In recovery i was offered a drink and a pack of biscuits and we talked through post op care what I can do and no question I had was made to feel silly. Whilst in some discomfort after all in all so far its positive. I would say however that I washed my hair the night before the procedure knowing I wouldn't be washing it easily again for a while and it was pointless to do this. The amount of iodine and water used in the procedure was all in my hair and it will still need to be washed regardless so honestly I wouldn't bother doing that again next time. 16/11/25 went for my 2nd op which this time was for my left eye. I had a different surgeon who was fantastic and was very reassuring and asked how I was getting on since last op. This op went well and now on the path to recovery for both eyes. I want to thank Newmedica for their fantastic service and for performing both operations so quickly and making me feel comfortable and reassured at every step of my journey
Had my first cataract done in October 2025 . Newmedica Eye Clinic and all its staff were absolutely amazing. Made me feel at ease from start to finish and explained the process thoroughly. The after care was also outstanding. Thank you very much for your time care and patience. The cataract surgery was a success and my vision is much better. Thanks once again.

The staff are a credit to the organisation . I had both my cataracts removed within two weeks and the results were remarkable. The service we received from Newmedica was excellent. The booking of the appointment and the reception on arriving at the premises was good. We were seen on time for tests initially and my Mum, who was the patient, was treated with the utmost patience and kindness. The consultant was George, he could not have been more professional, but very friendly at the same time. A very thorough examination was carried out and a favourable outcome resulted.
