Charlie was recommended by my strength and conditioning coach after I broke my collarbone. His knowledge and support during my recovery were invaluable and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Within 5 minutes of our initial review session I felt completely at ease with Charlie. He showed a great deal of compassion and understanding towards not only my injury but also the mental struggle (and subsequent muscular issues) I was going through as a result. I think Charlie quickly figured out what made me tick as an individual and as a result tailored my sessions both in the gym and at home to challenge and inspire me back into action. I pushed myself hard because I knew Charlie was invested in me and I wanted to repay his faith. There was a clear plan and everything was explained to me succinctly and sound reasoning given for every exercise undertaken. As a result, I'm well on the way to a full recovery and working towards coming back stronger. Thanks Charlie, I'm forever grateful for your support.

Charlie’s rehab and training has had a big impact on me. I used to have frequent episodes of back pain including sciatica, but since training with Charlie and using the daily 10 minute exercise programme he designed for me, I’ve had over 2 years trouble free and I’ve been able to get back to running again. Charlie’s also great with people and really fun to work with. Highly recommended.

Over the years I have seen physios, chiropractors & osteopaths for historical issues. For several years I have been receiving treatment regularly from Charlie when needed and PT to keep issues at bay and he is brilliant. He has provided treatment from injuries and ongoing advice and encouragement for training programmes. Always calming, empathetic and happy to see you. I would have no hesitation in recommending Charlie for treatment and indeed have done.

As Charlie is aware, I complain every time I have to workout - and yet I have been to the gym with him every week for well over a year now because he is outstanding at what he does. I originally saw him for an ongoing ankle injury and within weeks it had massively improved, so we moved on to general PT. Not only is Charlie incredibly knowledgeable and perceptive, but he is always friendly and welcoming. He is able to adapt and find the perfect way to motivate and encourage people, which makes each session enjoyable as well as being an intense workout. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Charlie, and in fact, I've already done so with many friends and family.

I had pretty much given up on the sports I cherished - from running to climbing to cycling - when I came in to see Charlie. I had been through a succession of physios, podiatrists and other specialists and was ready to call it a day. But he convinced me it was not old age! He helped me understand where I was going wrong, move better and build strength in the right places. I'm now running faster than I ever did and cycling further. This turnaround is down to Charlie's thoughtful guidance, encouragement and insights.

Before meeting Charlie, I suffered from lower back pain for over 5 years. I had tried resting, yoga, acupuncture and been to see a chiropractor regularly. I can honestly say that none of these worked for me, long term. Even though I was an active 30 year old, it got to the stage where I had very nearly resigned myself to thinking my lower back pain would last forever, and only get worse the older I got. Thank god I didn’t give up and went to see Charlie instead! I am now lifting weights as heavy as I have ever lifted, climbing, canoeing and doing all the things that make me happy. All completely without pain. There’s no doubt in my mind that this was down to Charlie’s instructions and I’m extremely grateful for his help. He is very clear, positive and logical. You can tell he’s driven by fixing the problem and wanting to help, not by booking you in for another 10 appointments (like some chiropractors I’ve been to). I would recommend Foreshore to anyone who has got chronic pain and has almost given up hope of finding a solution. Get Charlie’s advice and then put in the graft to fix yourself - it is well worth every penny having your body back to full fitness.

Upon struggling with an Achilles problem, I went to see Charlie on the recommendation of a friend, herself a physio. The experience and the outcome have been superb. The initial diagnosis was fascinating, with Charlie quickly identifying and explaining how features of my running form were creating a sequence of consequences from glutes to quads to calves to Achilles. We have worked through a series of strengthening exercises over several weeks, each carefully explained, which, together with suggestions on modifying my running gait, have already improved my form. Always pitched to push me, always fun, the sessions were a high point of my week. I feel thoroughly re-enthused about my running. Highly recommended.

Don't be fooled by the boyish exterior; Charlie is seriously good at his job. Rigorous, resourceful and perceptive, he understands both the physical and psychological aspects of sports rehabilitation. He has taken me from literally crying in the street with pain to training harder than I ever have. Charlie should come with a hazard label: Warning - this product is addictive.

I started seeing Charlie with a rowing related back injury a few years ago. He treated me, provided exercises to support my recovery, and increased my awareness of strengths and weaknesses within my body. He helped me make a full recovery and go on to be fitter and stronger than before. I continue to see Charlie for training and injury prevention. His knowledge, encouragement and good humour knows no bounds and I recommend him to anyone I speak to needing treatment or rehab.
