Robert Owen Nursery is staffed by people who genuinely care about the children and families that attend. My daughter has truly flourished here; she loves attending each day and it has set her up for school next year. The teachers plan brilliant activities - qualified early years teachers really make the difference here, and fantastic headteacher Colette and deputy head John. The support staff in the nursery room are all fab with my daughter, they all know her name and what she likes. The early years literacy and numeracy is great - they read a book together at story time daily. They also learn about different cultures and beliefs, and celebrate events together. It is a wonderful place. The setting of the nursery is also really good - they garden together, growing fruit and vegetables. They also have the attached community garden which they visit each week (the older children do forest school there). They have a large playground area with equipment. The only gripe might be the small inefficiencies of the office staff at times, but this is truly a minor thing. I will be sad when we leave this nursery next year to go to school - it is a gem.

Robert Owen is an absolutely wonderful Nursery School. We have had a long and happy history with Robert Owen. My son (now 10) and daughter (now 6) still have many happy memories from their time there. My 2 year old has just started. She absolutely loves going and has settled in incredibly well and adores her key worker. The team are incredibly committed, professional, experienced and knowledgeable. They really think about how to bring out the best in each child, carefully thinking about how to incorporate the child’s interests and using a wonderful array of play equipment to spark their imagination. The outdoor space is incredible - my children had / have lots of space to explore and using the various play equipment have grown in confidence. My children were brilliantly prepared for the move to school and managed the move with confidence. The communication between the class and home is great. They really got to know my children and I would wholeheartedly and without hesitation, recommend Robert Owen. It’s no accident that Robert Owen continues to be achieve an outstanding ofsted rating! Robert Owen is not just a nursery school it’s a local gem!

Robert Owen's is a great setting with good outside space but what really makes this nursery wonderful are the staff. The teachers and practitioners seem to have a wealth of experience. I love how much effort is made to know and understand every child, to let them follow their own interests with guidance and structure where needed. Every member of staff that I have interacted with is full of positive energy, appears diligent and always very caring. The admin team have been helpful and accommodating allowing us to make last minute changes and patiently explaining the sign-up and payment process to us. My daughter loves it there and if I was allowed to stay too I would :)

Robert Owen puts the children at the heart of their plan. The teachers and carers do a phenomenal job of caring for them, fostering their independence and relationships with other children and grown-ups and stimulating their curiosity. The staff always seem to strike the right balance between structured activities and free play. My middle son absolutely loved his time there and it prepared him well for school. My youngest son is there now and is enjoying experiences in the wonderful playground and at Forest School too! I'd highly recommend this nursery for anyone looking for flexible, reliable childcare but in particular for anyone looking for a joyful, creative environment for their little ones!

I couldn’t asked for a better nursery for my son, they have done nothing but be accommodating taking the time in getting to know my son and helping him with his speech and language. They have always been very polite and helpful to me so I can not complain about the admin or the rest of the staff. My daughter also went there and she loved it also. I really would recommend them. At first when my son started I was a bit worried as I had got use to the staff of my daughters class when she went and was hoping to have the same class and due to suffering mental health I was bit apprehensive about him going into a different class with different staff and in all honesty it’s been the best they really do care about my son and you can tell it is genuine. They genuinely want the best for him and who doesn’t want that for their child or from somewhere looking after your child.
