   I was looking to upgrade my 7th grade theatre arts Commedia dell’ Arte unit when I came into contact with Cheryl and Learning Through Theatre. Not only was the unit upgraded from the technical and historical perspectives, she introduced me to Wintercroft mask templates and guided us in creating the masks with clear and excellent videos. Her Zoom classes with my students demonstrated her deep knowledge of Commedia and her wonderful performing skills, while her keen ability to communicate the material to this age group and adapt it to our needs made it accessible and fun. While the bulk of student media consumption is through the phone screen, Commedia has helped my students understand how to show character thinking and motivation on the stage. Working with Cheryl has made our transition to Shakespeare successful and fun, both for my students as well as myself. I highly recommend Cheryl, both for students and for teachers looking for Professional Development opportunities. Thank you, Cheryl!

   Cheryl delivers a fantastic workshop on Commedia, explaining the history, the characters and skills needed. And once on their feet, the students have great fun developing scenarios and applying the physicality needed. We had a full day with Cheryl and could easily have added another day had we had more time. We will definitely book another workshop with Cheryl when we return next year.
