Matthew was just incredible! He was tremendously well-informed of the city’s history and was absolutely intriguing. His stories were detailed and absolutely riveting, as he was often able to draw parallels with today’s world. I felt his passion and love for Bath, and was inspired to explore the city all over again to take a closer look, after listening to his stories. There were many guides who came for the session to make sure the groups were no more than 8 pax. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes as it will be quite abit of walking! 2 hours so well spent!! Suitable for everyone - young and old! The tour is absolutely free (no tips accepted too), so just be prepared to show up and soak in the rich history! P.S. Thank you Matthew, and take care!

We had a fantastic tour led by Steve this week. He was very knowledgeable and made the tour interesting and engaging. Very friendly and happy to answer our questions. We were only in Bath for the day and feel that we've seen it all, highly recommended!

Very good walking tour. Completely free (no tips excepted either) and about the right length in time and distance. Justine, our guide, was knowledgeable, humourous and considerate - a great experience for everyone in the group. It's a great way to learn about Bath.

We cannot recommend this enough! We only had one day in Bath so wanted to make the most of it and our host recommended this free tour. Our guide Simon was 11/10! We had the most fantastic 2hrs around bath, Simon was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and entertaining. We learnt so much on our walk including bits about the history of Bath, Jane Austin Facts, and Bridgerton facts. We really liked the diversity of information for all ages and interests. We also go to see all of the main sites in Bath which is exactly what we wanted! If you only have 1-2 days in Bath, this tour is for you! Thanks Simon :D

A wonderful experience. Two hours of immersion in the history of this beautiful city. Grant, our guide, gave us the facts with a wonderfully understated sense of humor. The rainy day was quickly forgotten. Highly recommend this walk. And free! Not even tips are allowed. It feels like you made money in the first end.

How can you not give it five stars I could really do with a donation bucket at the end of the tour. Very insightful and you get to learn a lot for nothing even if they put a voluntary donation it would definitely be worth it. Our tour guide had a trainee badge on but it was like he had been doing it all for years. Really recommend it. Wish I could give it 10 stars.

I recommend this tour to everyone, yes, residents too!! Incredible details of streets you might overlook and great facts and stories of the most well known features of Bath, like the Abbey and Royal Crescent, will leave you baffled with how much history can all fit in such a small city. Had the astounding Jeremy (a.k.a. “Terry”, if you don’t like him, haha) as our tour guide and could not have asked for anyone better. He lead us through this amazing city with charisma and knowledge and throughout the tour gave us even more adventures to seek out in Bath! Do you want to explore Bath and it’s great sights but don’t know where to start because everything is so terrific? This tour is for you! And come on, it’s completely free ;)

All the other reviews are correct: Free, no tips accepted, and the guides are fabulously knowledgeable. Our 10:30AM group was large enough that we were split into 4 groups, and our guide was Mike K. He was informative, giving some historical context (love the banner with timelines that his wife sewed - given my limited understanding of English history it was enormously helpful additional information) and just charming. I gained a deeper appreciation for the architecture and some of the subtleties around choices they made in building them. He shared some extra tidbits about Bridgerton locations (and how the producers managed the buskers during filming so everyone was happy). Well done, Mike K - since I can't tip you, I can applaud your excellent tour here instead!

Amazing tour, can't believe these guides give up their time for free for us - they're really knowledgeable and dedicated. The pace was good, loads of interesting info and a range of locations of interest covered. Our guide was Maggie.

Took the Mayor's guide walking tour around Bath today and had a wonderful time. Our tour guide was extremely professional and very knowledgable about the city. We went around all the major landmarks of the city and were treated with stories & history of each. The tour was completely free and the guides refused to take even tips.
