I visited the Alveston pharmacy to obtain some ointment for a lump on my calf which had developed into a scaly scab. The pharmacist (Shanief) examined the lump and immediately commented that it looked “sinister” and that I should visit my GP as soon as possible. I visited my GP surgery the same day and relayed the conversation with the pharmacist and was seen by my GP. She examined the lump, identified the lump as a suspected basal or squamous cell carcinoma and made a referral to a consultant dermatologist at Southmead, who confirmed the diagnosis as squamous cell carcinoma, which was surgically removed 4 weeks later. A perfect example of the crucial role of the pharmacist (Shanief) as the vital first link in the chain, followed by a flawless NHS referral sequence and action.

Always a pleasure to use this chemist. The pharmacist is professional and a real gentleman nothing is too much trouble. The staff are always friendly can be stressful for them as it is a very busy chemist. Don’t know what we would do without them Lesley Barnes

Helpful, friendly, chatty staff and pharmacist can usually find time to discuss symptoms and medications with you. Sometimes a que for prescription filling but this is a small local pharmacy and very worthy of local support.

Good pharmacy. Are always prompt and actually answer the phone unlike some other local pharmacy that are still stuck in the dark ages, that seem to still using pestle and mortar and are still about 300 years away from getting a telephone line installed.

Always friendly and efficient, I changed from a chain pharmacy to this one about 3 years ago and have been very happy with the service. Well done and thanks to all of you.

I'm surprised to see these negative opinions but respect your own however every time we have needed to use this pharmacy they have been fantastic, from friendly advice to punctual prescriptions... Even taken the time to chat to my kids being dragged in! Thankful so local and personable.
