**Google Review for Hengrove Pharmacy** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hengrove Pharmacy has become my absolute go-to for all prescription and healthcare needs. I’ve been using them regularly for over a year now, and the level of service is consistently outstanding. The pharmacists here are genuinely knowledgeable and take time to explain medications properly, answer questions thoroughly, and ensure you understand dosage and any potential side effects. They’re not just dispensing prescriptions – they’re providing proper healthcare advice and showing genuine care for their customers’ wellbeing. I’ve had several occasions where they’ve spotted potential issues with prescriptions and liaised directly with my GP to resolve them, which shows real professionalism. The staff are always friendly and efficient, even during busy periods. Prescriptions are ready promptly, and they offer a reliable repeat prescription service that takes the hassle out of regular medications. I’ve never experienced the long waits or stock issues I’ve encountered at other pharmacies in Bristol. Beyond prescriptions, they’re brilliant for over-the-counter advice.

I have used this pharmacy for some time, they are very friendly and helpful. Always do there best to make sure are medication is ready for collection.

Discrimination. Thoroughly upset at the unjustified behaviour of a staff member who I believe profiled my autistic 20 year old partner. My partner was refused an emergency supply of medication after running out. He was taken into a room and interrogated for 10 minutes by a male member of staff who told him continually that “I don’t believe you take this medication”, despite my partner having proof of ID, previous prescriptions on his NHS app and calling his GP. He was finally refused under the pretence that the service was “not for” emergencies and he’d have to deal with the withdrawals of his antidepressant. (NHS description of service“ Use this service to request a limited emergency supply of a medicine you’ve completely run out of.”) My partner has a disability, doesn’t live with family and is taking essential medication for his mental health and I am appalled he was not only rejected his medication, but was accused of lying about needing it. Thankfully, we explained this situation to his GP and they’ve given him his medication. But shocked and disappointed that this staff member would intimidate and allow a vulnerable individual to go through withdrawals despite the NHS emergency prescription service being designed to prevent this.

Terrible Experience – Refused Emergency Prescription I had an awful experience at this pharmacy when I urgently needed my prescription. The pharmacist was intimidating and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable, questioning whether I even took the medication—even though it has been on my NHS records for the past year. Initially, he agreed to provide a two-day emergency supply but then went back on it, dragging me into a private room where he interrogated me about why I didn’t have my medication. As an autistic individual, this was an extremely distressing and unnecessary ordeal. The way I was treated while simply trying to access the antidepressant I need was unacceptable. There was no compassion or understanding—just judgment and suspicion. No one should have to go through this when seeking essential medication. I would not recommend this pharmacy to anyone needing urgent help.

I visited Imran, the pharmacist twice this month for my 11 year old son. Firstly, he was diagnosed with Shingles and after a follow up with a GP, we returned for a course of antiviral medicine. Alby recovered but then picked up a nasty virus which lead to his ear drum perforating. We returned for a consultation with Imran, who looked over Alby, with compassion and empathy and prescribed ear drops and a course of antibiotics. The pharmacy in general are brilliant but Imran goes above and beyond to help the community.

Checked closing time, it was 1800hrs, got there at 1755hrs, the pharmacy was closed with shutters down.

Not too crowded and always has what I need. However the staff aren't very talkative and don't offer much advice.

Conveniently located with friendly and knowledgeable staffs and pharmacists. Sometimes I call them to put things aside and go pick it up. They offer delivery service for prescriptions as well. Couldn’t ask for anything more.
